Description
Following the split of the cooperative venture between the Incom and Subpro Corporations, the research and development team of the former for the highly-successful Z-95 Headhunter decided to focus on an experimental, hyperspace-capable platform that they hoped would revolutionize modern starfighter design and strategy. In the midst of the Clone Wars conflict, however, there was little time to fully devote their efforts to field and market such a craft that did not as of yet have intrinsic demand.

A vacuum in the role of interception and close-support did appear as Republic fighters found themselves outpaced by faster and more nimble craft fielded by the Concordance, namely the Slayn & Korpil SRAF. In response, the former Headhunter team built the T-60A Stiletto; a two-man fighter sufficiently equipped to interdict and/or catch up to speedy targets, which alleviated considerable pressure on slower vessels lacking anti-starfighter countermeasures. Itself an off-shoot of the Z-95, the Stiletto was propelled by two large sublight engines and armed with two laser cannons and a rear-facing twin ion cannon turret, and while not as durable as its predecessor, still boasted ray-shielding, an excellent avionics and sensor package, and a powerful targeting jammer effective against most fighter targeting computers.

Produced and distributed to units in the last two years of the Clone Wars, the craft saw action in a few large scale battles, namely the Battles of Mon Calamari and Hyperbori, which drove the last of Concordance forces out of Republic-aligned space and towards their eventual surrender. None of the Stilettos would remain into the Imperial era, as these and their Z-95 cousins were decommissioned and either scrapped or sold off to either integrated planetary defense forces or law enforcement agencies such as the Sector Rangers.

Notes: Before Revenge of the Sith was released, I had a dream about what I thought this movie would be like, and in one of those scenes was something similar to this craft, in formation speeding above the oceans of Dac/Mon Calamari. Think this turned out way better than what I had envisioned.
