Renji as a baboon (matches his Zanpakuto, also they rely heavily on family bonds and found families are common, can be very playful but also really savage fighters), Uryu as a saw-whet owl (owls have an interesting connection to German mythos and are used as symbols of royalty and high cadence in many cultures, saw-whet owls aren’t the strongest or biggest but they’re very intelligent and aren’t afraid to speak up when they need to), and Tosen as a British Colombian wolf (one of the most excellent adapted and strong wolf species, I think they also fit Tosen because of his strong connotation to loyalty, justice, and sticking to what feels right).
