Äs Nödt as an abyssal bigfin squid (the association of these animals to horror and alien media is really unique, we don’t know much about them and yet many many people are afraid of them. Cephalopods have struck a primal fear in people for thousands of years, are very intelligent, manipulative, and can easily navigate the world around them with their extraordinary senses. The sharp angles that these squid hold their arms in also reminded me of Äs’s sharp shoulders), and Giselle as a tri color cockroach (a beautiful, charming animal from the rainforest that is often judged prematurely for what it is. Cockroaches are one of the coolest animals I have ever worked with and I really think their playful, charismatic attitude matches her demeanor with her friends. They are also widely feared and disliked worldwide, and are very smart about resisting the urge to fight when things aren’t going to end well. They can withstand a ton of damage).
