i had a hard time categorizing this one. itΒ΄s a pencil drawing coloured in photoshop. background created from pictures.
i wanted it to look really flat, and theoretically wrong (something about the table bugs me though)!

nah, i never watched those soaps, though some of the people i lived with did. mostly eastenders, i seem to recall (eastenders have been on tv in denmark as well). i honestly never understood it,- i think maybe you have to be english to do so 
regarding these two, i think heΒ΄s just as bad as she is. theyΒ΄re both making each other suffer!

oh, itΒ΄s not dubbed. we only dub childrens programmes and movies. we just use subtitles. i hate dubeed movies. when i was in spain i watched american movies in spanish with english subtitles,- horrible. johnny depp in spanish!?? no, gracias!

iΒ΄ts pictures, so itΒ΄s sort of a digital collage! i had a picture of tiles and a strip of wallpaper, and then just copy/pasted it in masked layers in photoshop. same with the tablecloth, though i tweaked it a bit.

you know, bridie, those are my exact motivations for making this. i too remember sitting there under some hard kitchen light on an uncomfortable chair listening to the adults talk about nothing, listening to the clock ticking!

i love it. it's such a mix of perspectives and patterns and shapes, but they all reside very pleasantly in your scene. which is horrifying in its stifling mundanity. eek. that's my nightmare too, to end up like that.
i do think the black border is a bit too heavy and overpowering. perhaps just a 5mm black border and white space around? or just a thin black or white border? sorry, it's just the designer in me obsessing about presentation. don't mind me.
