My entry for ChoralSeashelle 's contest!
[EXTENDED] Pony Character Design Contest! The "aye"'s have it! I've decided to hold this little contest to find a design for 3 very important characters in my OCverse, "Fall of the Alicorns"! Specifically, Prince Iron Shield's and Princess Lantern's parents, the king and queen; and the main villain, Vox the Avenger (I know, he's a drama queen)
OBJECTIVE
Create an original design/reference sheet for 1-3 of the characters described below, using the information provided and your own wild imagination!

King Stratus
A very strong, wise, and capable ruler. He is an alicorn, and has seen many wars come and go (he's won all of them). He may bear many scars as tokens of his victories over the years. He is also a very loving father to Iron Shield and Lantern, and a carin

I loved designing this guy so much with all of his cool scars and the broken horn, speaking of which I designed his prostetic horn as if it could be removed easily enough, because the helmet just sits on top of his horn sort of (thats why I went for the mask helmet look instead of a full on helmet)

a small head-canon that I had:
I imagined King Stratus having large canine teeth, almost wolf like in a sense. so the scar on his back (which is intended to be a bite mark) has two teeth marks that are larger than the rest specifically for that reason. I thought it would be cool if he had some other scares from King Stratus from when they got into that one on one fight, aside from the scars on his face that came with the shattering of his horn.

also, for his armor I was going for a dragon scales kind of look since dragons are typically considered powerful and he's supposed to be a huge warlord type of character. also I went for a very simplistic set of armor, as to not take away from the character himself.
