Bio: In the 1990s, DNA samples were taken from some of the remaining Abaco Barbs and preserved for potential future use. Fast foward to 2015 to when the last Abaco Barb mare, Nunki, died—and a year or two later, a successful somatic cell egg transfer was completed. From that success, Vega was born. Vega is the light of her section of the stable; she's always happy to see people or other mares, gets along famously with most of the other horses, and she's so sweet that spending too much time around her is bound to give you cavities (so the staff say). We suspect she'll make an excellent endurance pony, once she's saddle broken. At the moment, she'll happily wear a halter and follow you around, but saddles are out of the question, so there's some work to do with her yet.

   The far-flung future idea for Vega is to try and resurrect some Abaco Barbs through the influence of modern day Spanish Barbs, but that's a long way off yet.
   She LOVES strawberries, they're her favorite treat and she will gallop at full speed across a paddock if she sees you have some. We've tested this.
