Description
...of a different kind. Hey, what were you expecting? Another one of those chainsaw swords? It's another idea I had. Since theres a contest going on at Weaponry-Guild, i decided to draw it.
I wasn't sure which design to go with - blades for chains, chains for blades or chains with blades. I do like the bottom one the most, though.
Oh, and I decided to add this one to Vexel, since some of the color fills where made with vectors, but then converted to raster, for applying additional effects.
----
As seen on Weaponry-Guild.
It was used in the first contest I participated in there, and it managed to get 2nd place!

Didn't think anyone else had the idea of a chain sword! I wonder how they'd do in combat? Probably not well, but I would like to see an actual sword with a chain blade! And good job on placing 2nd!

Probably like nunchucks/flails - effective, but only if the user is REALLY good with them, otherwise they would cause more harm to themselves!
Thanks!

No, I don't believe it is. Just some bevel/emboss and gradients to get the effect.

Well, sort of. I did the color fill with vector, but some of it was converted to raster to add the "3D" to it, such as with the chain links and gaurds, though the handles stayed vector.

I heard of the legendary 2.5D programs, that used pixols? Vexels? forgot what they were called, each pixel has a data of color and depth, so somehow a picture had both 3D shape and 2d color quality. Is that what you are using?

Hm, I didn't think of that. Sounds like a good idea, especially for the Chains for Blades one.

sort of a splice between a flail and a sword, very nice.
