Description At least let me gaze
Forever at your face
Don't make me close the eyes
That stare at your splendour

I shall have no more need
Of arms that can embrace
If you will never look at me
From the heavens where you dwell

I shall have no more need
Of feet that run and dance
If they will never bring me
Close enough to your path

My voice I will forsake
And be silent evermore
Rooted always to the soil
Yet ever facing the Sun...
______

Clythie, who, according to Ovid's Metamorphoses, caused the death of her rival for the sun god Apollo's love. He was much grief-stricken and, furious, never even looked at Clythie anymore. Despairing, she sat for days looking at the Sun's daily course through the skies, until she finally became a sunflower...

~zelda994612 's comic MYth reminded me that I've always wanted to draw some mythology illustrations. She's an awesome artist !

'thisa-chan I'm sure you'll find the story too dark again
It's been such a long time since I last did watercolours O_o I've lost what little knowledge I had of them >_< Now I'm almost afraid I forgot how to use colour inks too ! Aargh

Actually, I like this story. I'm sure it's only because of the sunflower. And anyway, mythology is always like that....
It's really nicely done! The hair in the petals like that... The texture enhances the art perfectly, too! I haven't said it before, but I think it's really smart how you add the textures to traditional art.

Not at all! It enhances the picture and it's not like you can just use any random texture, so it still counts as part of your work.

Oh my gosh you know Greek myths, too?? I had a class on Mythology just last year and learned tons, but I never heard that one (Sadly we didn't do much on Apollo lol)

Aha now for the art after that outburst The head seems a bit elongated but I love the textures. That's what I love about watercolors but I don't have any good paper and haven't been able to try She looks happy yet crestfallen at the same time (great emotion mixing!) and the hair dissolving into petals turned out very nicely

Happy to know you like myths too I'm crazy about Norse and Celtic myths too :

You're right for the head I fail at anatomy XD Still have a looong way to go I worked hard on the expression ! I'm glad it worked Watercolours are fun but so hard O_o
Any help with the poem ? :3

We never got to do Celtic myths >.< But we did do Norse and those were odd yet very neat lol

So long you're determined you'll get anatomy down soon enough Oh and the poem! Without a lot of rhymes, it can be tricky to keep a good rhythm, but I think you did it quite well ^__^ And it of course fits with the myth/art!
