Description
Alone is where I'll wait, and alone is where I'll be
Waiting for you
by the shore of a sea...
that thrashes, and crashes, and sings to me
Sings of things forgotten
and things yet to be
'til past and future intertwine
to embrase this dream -- this reality
A song for love
and a song for pain
A song of loss
and one for gain
A song for hope
and a song for joy
A song of dreams
of death,
... of many things
A song for you,
and a song for me --
Two lost souls...
...dancing with eternity
----------------------------------
Well, this one took a little longer than I was planning on spending on it. But it's finally done
The poem was inspired by the piece... not the other way around.
Oil on canvas 48x36"
-------------------
Wow... Wasn't expecting a DD for it. Thanks though, and thankyou to everyone who has looked/faved/commented on it. It is very much appreciated
I noticed some people asked about prints. They will be available soon, check back in a day or two

Doors to inspiration? Where the musician travels from door to door for his songs?

0__0 ..now there's a true artist right there. Some believe art is a beautiful picture, but it's much more than that, and the true artist invisions a soul and meaning into each piece. This piece has a true spirit and speaks, nearly screams, its meaning to the viewer: Life. The brilliance is absolutly stunning. YOU are a true artist indeed.

Thanks for the kind words I'm glad you got so much out of the piece! It's always nice to know that I've managed to communicate with another soul through my work. That's really the only reason that I paint.

I am sure you have heard it all before but this painting is awesome along with the rest of your work. What is your favorite type of media and why?

Thanks I'd have to say oil paint is my favorite medium. For several reasons. It dries much slower than acrylics, and since I like to do my paintings mostly in just one or two layers, that gives me time to get everything right before it dries. I thin my paint down a lot with turpentine, wich makes it last a long time. I've been using the same 1.4 ounce tubes of paint for the last two years. If you work with acrylic, you've probably noticed how the colors usually end up being quite a bit darker/less intense after they dry. Oil paint doesn't really do that, it pretty much keeps the same color as it dries, only a little bit of intensity is lost. And it doesn't tend to ruin the brushes as fast as acrylic paint does either.

I am going to learn how to use oils pretty soon. I started with acrylics and I am still learning how to manipulate color and intensity. I have found that the simple task of adding a gloss varnish revives the faded colors. I don't think I will ever stop learning but that is expected. Any beginner tips for acrylics?
Thanks for the comments
