Description
Here are the notes and illustrations I did last night during the tutorial session! ^^

-First draw 3 circles
-Then add a bit of detail to flesh out your char.
-The chest will be 2x the size of the head and butt

Fleshing Out=
Top to bottom - Left to right
[was in the notes previously but I had erased them to make room] I will be drawing a Great Dane so the anatomy will be a bit different but it will work for most breeds/wolves. So- erect ears and legs will be long and thin <-- I also forgot to mention Great Danes have HUGE ears which I forgot about while doing the tutorial.
-The elbows and knees are generally at the same height & equal to the chest "line" <-- It's just a line parallel to the ground, beginning where the deepest part of the chest is
-The tail is a tail xD
-Generally, dog paws can be sketched as triangles
-The heel will dip slightly below, but still in line with the knee

Now for the Head=
Just guess which is where?
As I said before, I am drawing a Great Dane, so the ears will be erect and the muzzle square - Draw triangles at the top of the circle, but leave room for the front of the forehead.

-You will want a bit of a ridge in the general area above the eye, most dogs have their forehead dip down but some may have a tapering head so they wouldn't have so much as a ridge as they would a muzzle that is tipped downward.
-The eyes are just about level with the top of the muzzle
-The nose is rounded and mostly rises from the skin of the face - TIP: Try a half-heart or a rounded "T" when drawing the nose from the side!
-The throat doesn't just begin from the chin but the skin is attached to the bottom jaw, so allow it to curve~
-When drawing the neck, start the line at about the middle of the cheek or behind the ears- Depending on how muscular your dog/wolf is and what height their head is at in comparison to their body
-Dogs have cheeks too! So add them below & attached to the ears

Adding Details=
Top to bottom - Left to right
I usually start the clean sketch w/ details on a new layer above the rough sketch, as well as use a small brush. size 50 -> size 35/25

-The eyes can be many shapes- Angled, almond, square, round, etc. I usually use a triangular shape or rounded
-I usually add a bit of a bump to the beginning of the nose
-Great Danes have large/droopy lips so they may cover up the sides to most of the bottom jaw and end in-line with the back of the eye
-Dogs have a sort of "split" in the outer edges of their ears where the skin tends to fold over itself. If you have a dog, go look for yourself! I find it interesting how the skin folds and reconnects~

Adding the lineart=
I can't really say much for this, just trace your sketch a bit and fix any errors you see in the process~

The clean lines = Now just color!

Another tip: If you feel like you are still making plenty of mistakes, don't fret! It is to be expected. Nobody is perfect xD And those who seem as though their art truly is the definition of perfection, they've also most likely spent years honing in the skills necessary to do so. So if you find yourself in a bind, don't be afraid to practice by tracing over a photograph ^^ Just as long as you don't upload it anywhere without the photographer's consent and giving credit where it is due~
