Nala is my favorite canon character so I wanted to do her justice, but getting her face right caused me some trouble and I ended up relying pretty heavily on screenshots and it's still not 100% where I want it. Hopefully that will happen less and less as I get accustomed to these portraits.

Anyway! In my future setting, Nala is universally respected and her authority is indisputable (even when it comes to Simba, although she won't undermine him in front of anyone). For many years she was known as the best hunter in the royal pride, but as her reflexes have slowed down with age, she's turned her attention more to training and mentoring younger lions. Someday soon she may have to initiate a serious conversation with the family about when it's time for Kovu and Kiara to take over...since nobody else is going to do it.
