Description
I made a reference for people to use for animating a run cycle. Please do not use actual images in any way besides as reference when drawing or animating your own run cycle. If interested in my actual images or animation fav.me/d4insm3 contact me first. You can also see it with a background fav.me/d4inxdq .If the intended use of this run cycle is for commercial purposes, please contact me.
If you do use this to create a single running art piece or your own animation, I'd love to see. I'd love to see if this is helpful to other artist.

Hi! This is a really nicely done cycle, did you used some reference as a guide? Where you found it? I want to make myself a running fox animation, but I can't find footage of a fox running in a straight line :/

Hello! I basically used a dog run cycle and just adapted it to be a fox. I used the Animals in Motion book: amzn.to/1OARKfJ
So, I did not find a sequence of a fox running. Hope that helps!

Does this mean that it never has two feet on the ground at the same time, or are you just not showing the intermediary positions?

they do have two feet on the ground at the same time, but not very long... if you look at the third drawing down it has both back feet on the ground. perhaps I should have shadows under the feet so it is more clear. they also do have the front feet on the ground at the same time (not shown in any of the drawings) but for a lot shorter time then the back feet, since that's where the power of forward movement is from. They don't always have the front and rear foot touching the ground when running (a galloping run) but do for a brief moment during this type of run... which is a more of a stamina type of run (more casual, slower). I hope this helps .

Thanks! I have an animals in motion book (with many old pictures for reference) that I used as well as watching videos on youtube of dogs running. So, I had references of dogs running, and since they are close enough, used the basic positions and adapted them for a fox. A lot of work, so that's why I thought I'd share this with others.
