You really like (making Erik) torturing poor Raoul, don't you! But your drawings are so clever...*trails off wistfully*

absolutely phantastic. If Erik had a candle in his hand at that given moment, that's likely what he would have done.... without hesitation.
Awesome picture!

But he does have a candle... in the play!
I was sad when I found out that the ending scene was changed in the movie. In the original play, Erik does not tie Raoul to the portcullis, he comes up behind him and throws a noose over his head which magically rises into the air, choking him. After Christine kisses him, Erik takes a candle from his desk/ organ and uses it to sever the thin thread which was holding the noose up. Check it out on Youtube.com. You can practically watch the entire show. Just type in a Phantom actor's name in the search box. I recommend Peter Karrie, Gary Mauer, or John Owen-Jones. Those three are very good Phantoms, and the search brings up most of the show, especially Mauer. Karrie is my fav, though Mauer and Owen-Jones sing better.

Sweet! I only witnessed the play with John Carpenter as the role of the Phantom, in 'Mer Majesties Theatre' in London. I'll be sure to do so... when I get high speed. -.-

You've seen it before? Did they not do the candle thing? The only time I've seen the play was in the Vegas spectacular. They edited it down to 95 min., cutting out some scenes and shortening others. They also changed the ending. Instead of a noose, a random cage rises out of the floor and into the air, trapping Raoul in it! I was a little disappointed that the Phantom wasn't strangling Raoul like in the movie!
