Description Drawing 2 project: group portrait

Ok, so it's not really a "portrait," but my instructor's cool.

We all know and love Michael Crawford from PotO, but many don't realize he's had a long and fulfilling career with many varied roles. Here is my humble shrine to that wonderful, one of a kind, actor: MC.

Movies and TV/ shows referenced (clockwise from top):
War Lover, EFX, Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, Woman in White, Once Upon a Forest, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Hello, Dolly!, Dance of the Vampire, Barnum, and Phantom of the Opera.

I'm thinking of making a series out of this, spotlighting different actors (and maybe even actresses if I ever figure out the female form...) that I admire. Actors under consideration: Lon Chaney Sr., Vincent Price, Claude Rains, Gerard Butler, Johnny Depp, Hugo Weaving, and Alan Rickman.

Thanks. One of these days I'll probably make one of Vincent Price, that is if I ever find the time.

I probably will, just need to put together a nice library of reference images. Which of his characters do you think would be interesting?

Cool. I like these projects; they show how much you really know about certain people. It's out of my league, I can undoubtedly say.

You know what, I used to love Some Mothers do Have 'em when I was little, and I loved it, it was only until a few years ago I realised that he was Micheal Crawford, The first Phantom!

I've had Once Upon a Forest since I was little, hearing MC's voice most of my childhood. I didn't realize that was him until recently!

I haven't seen that, is it any good?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SilverDrgnbane In reply to SafetyInNumbness [2008-03-28 12:57:38 +0000 UTC]

It's a solid children's film. Fox made it back in the early 90s when cartoons were still done relatively well. MC voices a supporting, mentor type character and sings a sad, sweet little ballad towards the middle of the film. Fortunately, the movie is not a musical. Disney seems to be the only studio who has any luck with musical animations.
If you'd like to watch Once Upon a Forest, I found it on YouTube. [link]

Omg, I remember this! I used to watch this all the time, when I was little, but when I got older, I forgot the name! Man, I used to love this film, my fave was the scene with the construction work and everything! Thank for reminding me, that's meant an awful lot to me!

Oh God! He was in Tanz de Vampire too! If your confused that's the German name for Dance of the Vampire, which that play was originally in Europe. Anyways, Id' never knew he was in alot more films and plays! Great job on the art!

SilverDrgnbane In reply to Sahkmet [2008-03-27 13:05:58 +0000 UTC]

I know the German. I'm sad that it didn't fly in America, despite all of MC's efforts. I've seen parts of the Austrian production though, very nice.

Oh yeah, this is barely half the stuff he's done. He was in TV and movies when he was younger.
