Lol, yeah. Though it was because he was heavily medicated after a surgery he had recently (after which he went back to performing a 'little sooner' than the doctor recommended) for a hernia he had suffered during an earlier performance.

As a result of pain killers from a recent surgery. He only performed because his understudy had banged his knees on the trapdoor at the end of Masquerade. Poor guys.

actually, the reason that MC went on, even though he was still full of pain killers, was that during the Masquerade, his understudy busted his knee open on the trapdoor when he left the scene, so MC had to come back a lot earlier than expected

heh, that's one of my favorite stories.
This is also one i love to visualize, "-The journey to the lair. The boat stopped moving, so Scott climbed out and when he turned around to lift Christine out. He saw the boat moving off with Christine still inside of it."

Hey there! Just found out about your comic-izing phlubs from my site! They're really fun. Just to clarify though - the reason why MC checked out of the hospital to perform against doctor's orders was that Steve Barton, who was his understudy as the Phantom, busted up his knees when trying to jump into the trapdoor/lake just before the Final Lair scene (that's posted on the UK page on ALM just a few flubs below the one you've illustrated). Apparently they didn't have a secondary understudy prepared so MC braved his pain and performed for the sake of the show.

During one of the performances, he got hurt by a random candle and was sent to the hospital... they gave him morphine but then he came back in time for this scene.
...But during the dialogue, and part of ALL I ASK OF YOU he fell asleep. You could here him snoring into his mic.

If you think this is bad, take a look at Phlub three. This poor guy, who happened to be MC, had just had surgery and was full of pain killers. In context what happened is understandable, but still funny!

I am quite fond of this one
Peter Karrie is no stranger to goofs, injuries, and the like. He likes to lean forward on the Angel sculpture during the "All I Ask Of You (Reprise)" for an added effect. Once, he somehow messed up his knee doing so and was in agony for the rest of the performance. Another time, he somehow managed to fall down an actual trapdoor in the stage and was missing for quite a while. Another time, he also sang "Hate to cut the prisoner short" instead of "Hate to cut the fun short." There was also another slip-up that had to do with "an invasion of warring ducks." He was presented with a plaque and recording of his goof the next day. (Stephanie - aka Toryn)
Regarding the flub about the ducks . . .
I believe it went a little something like this:
"Seal my fate tonight
I hate to have to cut the prisoner short
but the ducks warring in
let my destiny ride
'cause the music's afire!"
Hehe, that's gotta be the best one. I think the cast gave him a plaque with those lyrics on it... (Rebecca)

I LOVE THE PHLUBS!!!!!!!Steve Barton, whilst understudying the Phantom, busted his knees open on the trapdoor during Masquerade. This is what began Michael Crawford's long story of leaving the hospital before it was time. Exact quote of what happened. So then when that happened he left hospital and thus.
