Here is my Tobias and Rachel picture!!! When designing Tobias, I tried to make him match a kid who would be bullied in school - awkward, skinny, big ears and nostrils... but Rachel the school beauty still loves him!!
Man, flash cell shading is hard!!
I still have trouble with the doing it all on one layer thing - and it's hard to get sharper edges w/o going back over them. 
hmmmmmmI have more Animorphs drawing on the way! Might have to wait 'till later in the week though or the weekend... weekdays are my job hunt days

Oh, one other thing though, the only thing wrong wrong with this picture - Tobias should be blonde... His original cover model dyed his hair but was undercontract so they couldn't change anything, but in the books it's explicit that his hair is dirty blonde.

Awww I die for Rachel/Tobias and they are very cute and well drawn here. Never pictured Tobias with the big nostrils though lol, but the skinny scrawny part I did. Hahah the look on Rachel's face is so sly and Tobias looks like he's into it but almost nervous... Any man would be, I bet Rachel's a freak, you know she'd dominate lmao!

Awe, thanx so much for the comment!!! Yeah, I just tried to picture Tobias as awkward hence the odd face ^_^ Awkward so people would pick on him, but still cute ya know? Haha!
Ah, yes Tobias' hair color... I kinda just picked a light brown, but it should be a lighter brown ya? I just didn't want 2 total blondes together b/c they would look too similar, ya know?
I do remember when reading this that whole hair color debate... ah well!

i miss these guys, in my 6th grade days me and my friends used to hang out by the library and some of us would read the animorphs. we even made a group called the animorphs. hehe. u did good in this pic by the way. so RAchel

I miss these guys too!! In fact, I still have all my animorph books, sealed up safely in my closet - I can't part with them!
My friends and I were WAY into them when we were in middle school! And we wouldn't talk about them in publish since... well, ya know.... 
I'd love to do more drawings of them! Maybe in 2010!

Totally awesome! XD You made them look perfect and I think you made a good point with Tobias- Lots of people don't draw him as a 'come-and-bully-me' type. But you still managed to make him look adorable XD Man, Tobias rocks so much XD

Yeah yeah!! That is exactly what I wanted Rachel to look like!! And I am so glad Tobias worked out too - 'cuz yeah I didn't want him to look 'ugly' but I didn't want him to look like some cool or 'hot' guy people would NOT bully, ya know?

I always liked Tobias. When I was reading the books I was somewhat of an outcast (the minority of my language... english... lol) in school and I really identified with him.
OH. And I was watching HBO or Encore or something and I saw this movie with Shawn Ashmore in it.... I was like JAKE even though that show sucked IT'S YOU!

Yeah, Tobias was a great character. Messed up, but so great. And those types of characters are often very popular because of the reasons you said. I want to draw more of himmmmmmmm!!! (who am I kidding? I want to draw more of ALL of them!!
