Top 50 Challenge GalleryIt was hardly a mystery Archeops would take a spot in my top, considering how much I love birds and bright colours.
Since I’ve done side views of Archeops before, I thought I’d challenge myself to something like a front or quarter view. The result was WAY too pudgy, but funny in some ways. I also decided I’d use at least two different brush sizes, one for the body and one for the fur/details (like the claws), and actually pretend that I’m patient with switching brush sizes mid-drawing.
The shades are probably a tad too dark, but a quick fix would have been too dirty for my liking, and a proper fix would have taken too long. So I’m just leaving them as a lesson learned.

I think the clash of the fluffy feathers and the featherless neck makes it look vulture. Even on the official artwork of Archeops it looks that way, haha.
