Very lovely picture. I was seven when this happened and I didn't understand what was happening. All I knew is that, for some unfair reason, everyone was going home early and I wasn't. *shrugs* I still don't entirely understand why 911 happened. I just know that many innocent people died. But then again, that happens everyday. Maybe not as many, but still.

It's hard to explain, but bottom line, a LOT of countries (particularly Middle Eastern countries) hate America; what happened on 9-11 was their way of reminding us that they hate us, hence all the talk about terrorism. That's why Bush declared war on Iraq.
Yes, millions of innocent people die everyday, but even more died that day when those planes crashed into the twin towers; many people DID manage to escape, but a lot didn't. Some even jumped from the windows to try to escape, only to meet another death when they hit the ground. Another plane was hijacked by more terrorists, and was deliberately crashed outside of Pittburgh, so even more people died.
You know the golden rule? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you? If more people actually followed that rule, then maybe nothing like this would ever happen.

Well, I don't really feel or think much of the thing. I don't really think "omgash that's so terrible omg nooo" because I wasn't directly effected. I actually don't do well with the whole being sympathetic and/or understanding sort of thing, which is why I don't usually have much to say about things like this.
But I thought this was DEFINATELY worthy of a favourite and I always comment when I favourite.

Thanks dude, this is an awesome picture. I can't believe, that its already been 7 years. I remember sitting in the library and watching the towers fall like it was yesterday. I remember it so clearly. I can only pray, that all the souls lost are resting peacefully now.
And also, to my 343 fallen brothers. You are all hero's, and we truly will never forget the sacrafices that you made on that day 7 years ago. FDNY forever, will it never be forgotten, those you lost.

Knoxville's right next door to Oak Ridge, and Oak Ridge's got an atomic power plant, so we could've easily been a target as well.
