The reflection is really something. The overall piece is beautiful, but there's something in that reflection that draws my eye. Well done.

Thank you, this and "Mystic Bridge" were shot as part of a mimi series, which actually I still haven't completed, will have to get round to that one day
I like this night stuff and yes the reflection possibly makes this one.

Hi Simon, this is a beautiful image - I assume a pretty long exposure as you can see movement in the sky, I also like the reflection in the water. It is a good thing that many of the monuments etc. in this country are now lit like this as they are well worth seeing at night. Showing my ignorance but where is this

Thanks Stuart.
Exposure was 30 sec or there about, castle is Eilean Donan (aka the castle used in the original βHighlanderβ film)
Yep there are some lovely places well worth a visit at night. This is one hell of a round trip for me

Hi simon, your welcome it's a nice image.
I know what you mean about the round trip to there - I reckon it's about 4 hours for me each way - the last time I was up that way was for work just over a year ago I almost didn't get home because of snow which came out of nowhere so it's the kind of place I now will only visit in the less volatile months
BTW I was down at Pitlochry the other week and I think I saw your ruined cottage just off the road back to Glenshee - didnt stop for a look as it was hissing down.

Yep, there was a substantial snow fall while I was up there (see stag) and therefore the trip home was a little bit of a challenge until the other side of Rannock Moor.
The cottage ruin looks pretty ordinary in poor light, on the road that goes from Pitlochery-Moulin-Kirkmichael etc, well worth a look in late summer/autumn and evening, just before sunset the light (providing there is some ) is lovely and from the right direction. Sometimes the odd deer hanging around if you get lucky.

Hi Simon
I had a look at your photo of the cottage again, didnt realise until I saw it that it's on the side of a fairly steep hill, I assume you climb from the road to get above it. I wouldnt have minded stopping to have a look that day as I had plenty of time for a change but it was hissing down pretty much all the way home so I ended up in Glenshee trying to (not very successfully) make something out of the clouds and rain in the distance

The cottage shot was done from just inside the field accessible vie a gate, being Scotland with the access code etc its ok to enter the field as long as you donβt do any damage etc, it is possible to get up behind the cottage, but not recommended in the dark
Itβs a great little location when the light is right, lovely in the autumn, unfortunately due to the wind up there I missed the leaves before they were blown to the four winds
