Description
Trying to make a cool foil effect. I've wanted to make a faux-Pokemon Holo card look for awhile now, but only just sat down to think about how I'd do it.
This is getting close to what I imagine, but I'll modify the timing, and I think the contrast could be higher. MORE SHINY

The effect itself looks fantastic.
My only quibble is that it looks a little weird to me that it's a totally solid color when the effect isn't happening. But that's probably desirable, since what you're going for here is a test of the effect itself.
Also, since the color is so close to dA's background color, I thought it was empty linework at first. Looks much better against a white background.

No, I think I tend to agree with you that it looks odd being solid when the effect isn't happening. Maybe I'll apply that light crystalline texture from the original to the next test I do.
