Some more concept sketches for my monster recipe project.
Oledescant (FM+WO), Mercelis (MM+WO), Warowillo (NN+WO)
Mercelis aside, I want to tweak the designs to be less literally the animal they're based on.

These are fantastic. Okay, Oledescant is kind of blatantly a peacock, but I don't think Warowillo is too literal. I mean, I can't tell what it is. Looks like a mix of hyena and porcupine and maybe some other things. Or maybe it just looks like some animal I'm not familiar with. I think it's my favorite out of the bunch.
Mercelis is neat though, all wispy and twisty. I don't know which color variation I like best. They're all pretty cool.

I've been putzing around some revisions for Oledescant, and I think I'm pushing it more towards a Ghibli thick blob/sludge look and melding the wings/feathers together into one big shape.
Glad to hear the others are looking good though! Warowillo is definitely a combo of sabre tooth cat, hyena, and porcupine. Kind of warg-ish from LOTR.
