colored pencilThis was done for the bait shop at the end of the street. They are big and kinda slimy but they put up a great fight for the fishermen.Apparently that's good.

the biggest fight. well one of the biggest fish, that's for sure. haven't had the pleasure of catching one yet, i've caught their related species the northern pike 15lbs largest fish i ever caught and they really put up a fight when you bring them up to the boat, he took off like a train underwater. I would think many bait & tackle shops around minnesota would love to hang this on their wall, hell I wouldn't mind it either, I love fish!

I haven't being fishing since I was little with my dad and brothers, but we had a hilarious time.I think we have pike and trout here as well.I used to have a friend in B.C. who fished for salmon.Whenever he went fishing he used to drop off a few of the smaller catches (which were still huge, couldn't fit the whole thing on the bar-b-que).I had to gut and clean them myself which I got pretty good at.For free fish I learned quick.I use to throw the heads and tails in the freezer and use them later as bait to go shrimping and crabbing.I love fish and most kinds of seafood.A 15 pounder is a pretty big catch,I think if I had that big of a fight with a fish I'd probably end up in the water swimming. Thanks for the comments,I thought it came out pretty good for my first fish, a little different, no fur!Maybe I could do that, draw or paint peoples catch of the day.Might get a couple bucks.

hunting and fishing stuff are very popular. i drew a deer and have had several offers for it, but i've managed to hold onto it. yeah, i've cleaned my share of fish, used to go catch bluegills at this one lake, and we'd get so many all the time we'd start cleaning them right on the boat and then just throw the guts out into the lake. well it saved time haven't to clean the mess at home, but you can't always do that, sometimes it's just to rocky out there.

Can relate to that, some things are harder to part with than others.I have a few pieces like that. That's a pretty good haul,if you start cleaning them in the boat.Good idea to clean them in the boat, too.Definitiely saves on the clean up at home. Not a big fan of choppy water especially in a small boat.

Thanks very much.Maybe I should use them more often. They asked me if I could draw a fish and I said I'd give it a shot.I figured since it wasn't a pretty fish it could use some color. They wanted this particular fish because a lot people come here to catch this kind of fish,it gives you a good fight which is good I guess.

Thank you,I've had that comment from a couple people,so I might just have to take your advice.I do love color.
A good fight may add excitement, but I have a funny feeling I'd end up in the water swimming with the fish.
