1: "doc" from the little engine that could, was a 4-4-4
2: this first 4-4-4 was a reading C1a, but these engine where very unstable, and where converted to 4-4-2 atlantics

But they burned anthracite, which automatically outweighed the fact they were unstable. (They were unstable because the trailing truck was built like a leading truck, not a trailing truck. They were kind of new at that time.)

Nor did I mention how clever is the use of the WM/Reading speed lettering, or how good the weld lines look!
(One thing I just thought of, though... wouldnt a number series of 701-771 make a total of 71 engines? )

I was trying to figure out if it would be 70 or 71 XD.
I didn't realize the similarity to the speed lettering until now, but maybe that's why I chose that font.
