11" x 17" @ 450 DPI. Art by Jim Lee *jimlee00 , Scott Williams *INKIST and Alex Sinclair. One of the cool things I've been able to do with the nu52 is a bunch of variant covers. When I first got the inks to this I really liked them, but just wasn't sure what I was going to do with it since there was absolutely nothing other than the Flash and his running FX. Jim had an idea, but wasn't sure if it would work and was open to suggestions so I just started looking at and messing around with fractals to see if I could get anything cool. A few layered fractals and a lighting bolt later and viola...Flash variant cover and my favorite nu52 variant to date!This image is available as a 1 of 1 Artist Proof/print :[link] Please send me a note if you are interested.

Usually it's a whole bunch of brushes and filters. For this I painted the effects to mimic a fractal I had seen before.

Dude, that is freaking gorgeous! Love the effects. Really adds to the overall effect of the Flash standing out. Just enough contrast to make it interesting and not distracting.

Very nice. That's a tough challenge. Jim added a heckuva lot of rendering line-work on the Flash; kinda veers from his normal tendencies. Just my opinion.

Thanks! yeah-That's why I like doing variants with him-he tends to vary it up when he does. I usually take a cue and push things too.
