FAQs
Q. What made you make the software?
Ans: I have seen people going crazy over pageview scams and whatnots, 'Hey, he is cheating!', and other accusations. I just wanted them to see how many other statistics were there to worry about.
Q. You say you have used complex mathematical tools to arrive at the answer. Could you tell us more about it?
Ans. Of course! The following formula has been used to calculate the index:
index = squareroot{[ (0.5*num_of_deviation_views + 0.1*num_of_pageviews) + (0.5*num_of_comments_given + num_of_comments_received) + (0.5*num_of_friends + num_of_watchers) + (num_of_favs_received + 0.25*num_of_favs_given) + num_of_forum_posts ] / num_of_days_on_dA}
Q. I believe the formula is skewed and/or its too simple.
Ans: In case you do, please leave a comment and we can work out a more effective and complex formula.
Q. I want to use it on my Linux/Mac machine!
Ans: Sorry. The program works only on Windows, that too with .NET 3.5 and above installed. Ask someone to get the score for you. If you can't and/or won't, then just leave a comment and I'll get you your score.
Q. Should this be taken seriously?
Ans: If you must. I'm not going to pay for any kind of bills that you may work up due to use of this software, not for the psychiatrist and definitely not for parties.
Q. I think I might just have found a bug.
Ans: Of course you did! This is just a beta release of the program, so bugs might crop up!
Q. Isn't it too extreme to be sarcastic?
Ans: Well, I've been known to go overboard with my emotions.
Q. Hey mate, isn't this FAQ too long?
Ans: I guess it is. So, this is the last one, I swear.

I tried, but your pageviews are hidden so it doesn't give me a result. I you make them visible them I can do it for you

Thanks for trying, I didn't know my pageviews were hidden. I don't know how to unhide them, because the only box I can find regarding the settings says they aren't hidden. How would I make that info public?

Hmmm... Try going to your dA page, then to the box containing you number of deviations, comments, critiques, etc (top right), click on it, then click on 'edit' and make your stats 'visible to all'. Let's see if that works!

Haha, oh. I thought that info was public all along. Silly me. Does it work now? (Thanks so much for helping me by the way, I appreciate it)

Yay! This is what you got:
You have managed to score 11.37. You are 'God'. 'You are the almighty. Kings bow down to you. People pray to you every night before going to sleep. You are the giver of boons and performer of miracles.'

Oh wow, haha. I think the algorithm may be a tad off on that. Quite flattering though. Thanks again for the help, you have a great gallery.

Lol, I got the same result and was quite confused myself too, but as I know next to nothing about algorythms I can't really say. I tried some super hiper famous deviants to compare my result with and got, for example, that `Artgerm scores a 500ish so it makes sense I get a 12. The problem is that both of us are Gods, I with 12 and him with 500 I guess the developer should have added other categories or broaden the ranges.

So, any suggestions for categories? Small god, big god?

If you want to go biblical you can add cherubs, angels and archangels. But that is too Catholic and would be unfair to people who practice other religions or none at all.
But I actually think you should keep the categories as the are and broaden the ranges by with they are given. That way you won't have people with a result of 12 and 500 having the same category. I, for example, am midly well-known within the group of traditional artists while `Artgerm (my previous example) is really popular within dA as a whole, you just need to look at his figures. By dA popularity terms he IS a God... I'm certainly not. So while it was amusing when I found out I was a God, when I saw that Artgerm was a God too I felt like something didnt quite add up, if you know what I mean.

I'll think over it. Thing is most of the people who have given me feedback lie in the range below 15 and only a few above that.
Anyhow, this was meant to be farce, not to be taken seriously, so I don't think there is much need to overthink the stuff.

I get an error while the application is "fetching webpage":
There was an error retrieving the page! It's because your secret stats are hidden. Re-enable them and try again!
My stats are currently set to "Visible to all" and still I get this error. I checked in account settings and couldn't find any further options. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
I'm running Windows 7 with .NET Framework 3.5

How did you get that formula?

I'd definitely love to see this in action but, I am currently on a mac Sounds like a great way to bring people to their senses over silly things like page views though
I've never understood the need to ask for things like watches and favs and views, that means they weren't sincere, so they hardly count? It doesn't mean the person liked you or the work, it means they were pestered into do it xD I would rather know my success was entirely earned through hard work and genuinely pleasing people when they come across it
It's certainly a motivation to keep improving with my art in general

Would you like to see the score? Curiosity aside, you really got what I was going for. The stats can be altered in any way but the worth can't.
