They cancelled two uncreated games from C&C unniverse, latest game C&C4 was horrible... that's the things that I hate as a fan of C&C and I didn't even mentioned things from behind this brand

yeah, c&c4 was pretty terrible. i took part in the beta and quit half way, stating that i disagreed with the direction they were taking.

Hey, since the Allies seem to have an extra general (the as-of-yet-unreleased-for-playing Special Forces General "Lupa"), do you think that the GLA and APA have another general up their sleeve?Β  And if so, who would you think they are, and which tactics do you think they'd cover?

Personally, I think the GLA would have a "Stealth General" (since the other factions have a variation, and yet they somehow don't), while the APA would get a "Tank General" (not exotic, but seeing as the other generals cover every aspect of their military EXCEPT the tread terrors, it'd be surprising it didn't get on the list).

As for who's playing them, I definitely think that the APA would have Zero Hour Tank General Ta Hun Kwai replaced with an all-new character (since Tsing Tsi Tao and Shin Fai were replaced by Ma "1000 Suns" Shen and Park "Beast" Kang-Dae, respectively), but I'm kind of hoping the GLA Stealth General Prince Kassad makes a return - hey, Thrax is back from the dead, and he isn't a master of subterfuge like Kassad, so what's stopping him from faking his death for a few years?Β  If not, then I hope the new GLA character was directly influenced by Kassad (the same way it's hinted that Adela "Nitro" Baskova was trained by Rodall "Demo" Juhzi, the former GLA Demolitions General)

I wouldnt be surprised if EA released additional generals like how Injustice releases DLC characters (you'll have to pay for them, of course). If it were up to me, each faction would have the same number of generals. I think its unfair if one faction has more than the others. I agree on GLA having a stealth general but i think they're rethinking the tunnels thing cuz they dont want to infringe on Starcraft's Nydus worms, which is a ridiculous notion cuz Generals had their tunnels system at the same time Starcraft 1 had the nydus canals. The EU should have more aerial assets. Then again, the game is still an early build so who knows what theyre adding to the game.Β

Well if they are rethinking the tunnels, I think it's less "make sure we aren't ripping off Starcraft", and more "stop the GLA from being able to teleport units halfway across the map in a split-second" - this is a "realistic" game after all

Anyways, I think a better use of the tunnel system is to have them act as a separate map all to itself, like the water-pipe/subway maps of the SimCity games.Β  Functionally, this would prevent GLA units underground from being attacked, but also prevent other units from attacking them.Β  Rather than be an instant teleportation gimmick, the GLA units in the tunnels can still be able to quickly traverse the map under otherwise impassable terrain, like mountains, buildings, lakes and rivers, etc.Β  This'll be limited to small infantry squads and light-vehicles, just so we prevent the possibility of heavy-tanks bursting in the middle of a compound, and of a limited number of GLA units being able to be "garrisoned" in the tunnels.

I don't know what you mean by "The EU should have more aerial assets." since they already have a dedicated Airforce General with
Didier "Daedalus" Beauchamp.Β  If you mean that there should be more air units in action, perhaps those will be added after the Alpha build, but I think they also need to be careful of making sure air superiority doesn't "break" the EU (and its Airforce General) the way it broke the USA (and its Airforce General, Malcom "Ace" Granger).

And yeah, I think that the APA and GLA will have an extra general as DLC - heck, given how General "Lupa" isn't available to play, I wouldn't be surprised if she's part of the DLC too.Β  Well, only thing to do is to keep our eyes opened, and our fingers crossed for more information on the game, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Its them thinking they're ripping off SC2 for 2 reasons: 1. this is a new team developing the game, and they want to put their own stamp on it by being innovative and using new ideas. 2. It was written in one of their slides when they were presenting how to make generals 2 better... nydus worms were actually quoted there.

I like your tunnel idea. It seems to follow the real-world where generals 2 is based upon.

Don't u think the EU airborne units look kinda crappy right now? Besides that VTOL thingy, the others look less than good.

I think they'll release more and more generals through DLC just like how injustice added more and more characters to the game.

The airborne units look less than good?Β  Is this an argument of aesthetics now?Β  I think the air units the EU has give the adequate "sleek, streamlined, next decade-future" look of First-world fighters, and if they aren't functionally useless, I think it's just fine.

Now, if they don't fight as well as you think they should, that's probably the bigger issue, and one that'll hopefully be fixed after the Alpha, or at the very least a post-game patch when enough players flip their lid over how much the EU's airforce has been "nerfed".

Can you show me the slides where they cited "nydus worms?"Β  I'm morbidly curious to see how much they want to desperately avoid "being Starcraft 2", and how much they accidentally end up botching the gameplay trying to distance themselves from that game.

Also, just thought of another gimmick for my tunnel idea: that any units, from any side, can enter through a tunnel entrance, if they find an unguarded tunnel entrance - or, in a GLA vs. GLA skirmish, the ability for tunnels of one side to "breach" another.Β  This would lead to firefights between the infantry and light vehicles traversing the tunnels, like in a Vietcong "rat tunnel" in the the Vietnam War.Β  Or, if a tunnel entrance is blasted, there's a possibility for the tunnels to cave in, burying any units alive.

I'm somehow feeling it's a little late to give these ideas of the tunnels to the developers right now (if they haven't got an idea for them already), but, hey - there's always Generals 3!

Yeah, visually the EU airborne units arent as cool looking as the previous C&C games. They arent as sleek. They would be fine APA units, but not EU.Β 

But everything as you pointed out is still in alpha... so long ways to go.

I wouldnt want the EU or APA to gain access to the tunnels. But ur thing of detonating the tunnels has made me reconsider the thought. It would quite cool actually, what you suggested but I feel they wont implement it cuz it seems like too much micro (I love micro, tho, makes it feel "realer")

Its never too late to give ideas, problem is, will they listen?

I think the EU and APA should get access to the tunnels, but only if they capture a GLA tunnel entrance (which would prove easier said than done), and if they couldn't build additions to the tunnels, or repair areas that cave in.

Thankfully, the whole thing with the tunnels is "under consideration", and has something called "tunnel behavior" (which hopefully implies they're planning to do SOMETHING with the tunnels, rather than just cut it out)

So if it isn't too late to give ideas to the developers, where the heck do I give them (website? forums? email address?)
