I really don't know why they made RTS game with real life countries to begin with, even if an alternative reality is attached. I just think that making it more clearly fiction would also be more "politically correct". I do like tower defense and strategic games and what the like... but obviously the target audience wasn't me.
Either way, Tanya is fun to play and she's least likely to get caught. Natasha... well, I didn't care about her much. Yuriko is the only one who can also destroy air force.

I guess its a personal choice. I don't really see the deal with using real countries. Maybe its painting the western countries in a good light and the eastern ones as the bad guys, but i dunno. doesnt really bother me.

Nicely done, I liked the original game but didn't play the uprising add on primarily because they made it that the Allies won on all three factions. I wished it would have been more like RA2's add on where which ever faction you picked, won the main game.

oh dude... the commanders challenge in the uprising expansion provides probably the best strategic challenge of any RTS i've ever played. simply amazing. challenges every part of your brain coming up with a strategy to win each challenge.

I agree that the RA2 Tanya was still the best. For the life of me I can't figure why they hired Jenny McC for the role.
But I never did like Boris. That's just me.
I love the fact that they made RA3 a corny, busty, awesome game. It's my fav RTS game of all time.

It is weird why they changed Tanya...
And I dunno, I mean yeah woohoo for women. But for some reason it feels out of place on C&C. I mean I've played a lot of C&C over the years, all of a sudden replacing hero units with ALL women, and all of them some sort of fetish(Tanya is the fighter, Russia has the black spandex sniper with the accent, and Yuriko prime looks like a schoolgirl) feels like they've been sold out.
I miss Westwood.

Well dude, too be honest I love the whole campy women commandos thing. Reminds of those bad b-grade movies where the bad guy has an evil henchwoman psycho crazy killer assassin. like golden eye. plus all them women be easy on the eyes.

It's set in an alternate version of the future because the timeline as we know it has been meddled with. The Rising Sun in this game are technocrats with a mixture of the way of the samurai and reliance on superior technology and stuff. Their emperor is revered as God so that would make them have the same political ideology as the ancient Egyptians.

The Egyptian Pharoah was God on Earth. Same with the Japanese Emperor in Red Alert 3. He is considered God.
