Overall

Vision

Originality

Technique

Impact

Wow I have to write 100 words or more...this piece "Anne" if I may...is the zenful...ying yangness oiece of "Art Work" I have ever witness yet...and if anyone challenges my words on this then he/she is just jealous....

Vision: As soon as I set eyes on it I was grasped by the moment, I really had to sit back and look at it...and it wowed me completely...pleasant to the eyes yes...texture yes...

Originality: yes...the concepts of having all elements entwined in this piece is a marvel...you have sun and moon...water and sky...water and fire...everything that is in today's terms "New Age"...it must have been inspirational for you to draw this...to me it has a very spiritual feel to it...the idea of feathers or leaves falling in water and turning to little fishes is quite unique in itself...ok enough said originality...Unique it is e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

Techniques: yes- The mix of colors is awesome and pleasant to the eyes...your seperation of sky and water is unbelievable...it looks very (if you stare in the middle) 3 dimensional...like the center pops out at you...your lines are great...and I love that touch of the fishes being separated as if energy is ephemeral to the fish and water...nice idea that...technique excellent

Impact definitely yes....I gave you a 4.5 because they say not everything is perfect...it hit me hard to see this....put it for sale I will buy it as is...I just love everything about it....impact = wallop...that's how I feel about this piece...

Note: Put a copyright on that asap...and the choice of name Solstice...is fitting for this wonderful piece...I am proud of you e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/> I guess I said more then 100 characters...

you have made me a very happy person (again)
thank you for your appreciation and believing in me - it means even more than the critique and rating itself

DAGAIZM [2014-12-04 01:08:22 +0000 UTC]

I like it already!
Love the connection You made of light witg feathers symbolizing the air and smooth passing in to the fishes that symbolize water which have connection with the moon...it's like the :
"Branches are Roots in the air
and Roots are the Branches in the ground" - indian tale

DAGAIZM In reply to sintel16 [2014-12-05 00:19:14 +0000 UTC]

Yes,sure! - like I mencioned it was word from indian tale (hindu indian) - I had one book with those stories and this is the only one that stucked to me for already half of my life...so go a head and add it here or by the tree of life where are both - branches and roots visible...

Great picture, the colors you used and the concept of the drawing gives the incredible idea of movement, when I first saw it I thought that the scene was really in movement. I saw that you requested a critique, but I feel I can't do it because I never achieved a picture with the quality of yours. So the only thing I can do is give you the proper congratulations and ask what inspired you to create it?

sintel16 In reply to ARCR-CRic [2014-11-23 17:30:33 +0000 UTC]

thank you very much for your kind comment
thank you for saying all those nice things, I'm not that good, really

but I find the more I draw, the better I get, and really I can see it
when compare my early drawings to latest ones
so hopefully one day..

about inspiration, I still don't know where it comes from,
sometimes its people, what they say or do, sometimes lovely
sunset or rainy day, sometimes music
and sometimes I'm just struck by the idea, like the lightning, and I have to draw it.

this one started around summer solstice - and as I always liked the solstice celebration
and somehow this idea came to me.
maybe it should be called equinox as both moon and  sun are equal here, but solstice it is
the idea of feathers and fishes came as I drew it - sometimes I do that - change drawing completely or add stuff to it

This is great, I saw your gallery, looks like you are developing an unique style. About inspiration I agree with you it can come from anything and also change as fast as the wind goes, metaphorically speaking of course. About this solstice celebration, this is a brand new thing for me, I really never heard about it, in my country (at least here I live now) we don't have such celebration. It must be very beautiful event to give you this kind of inspiration. Thanks for sharing this on DA and keep up with the good work!

thank you
well, that's my goal - I am trying to find my own style that one I am happy with
the solstice celebration is quite beautiful - they have bonfires and I believe some dances as well
though I never participated in such celebration, I have seen photos and
read about it, so then I let my imagination run wild

why not.
lucky you - mine take me much longer - at least double your time
I go too much into small details, but,  well, sometimes I do have more
time and then it goes quicker.
The only thing that is more less regular is the mural as I do paint it every friday
anyway, i try to upload whenever I finish something.
Lets
I find that the best way to find inspiration

ARCR-CRic In reply to sintel16 [2014-11-24 21:34:07 +0000 UTC]

I usually take like 5 to 6 hours to finish a drawing, but I almost never have this time in a row, so I try at least 1 hour per day. But I've made some drawings like this one arcr-cric.deviantart.com/art/G… that took me three months to finish. I guess it depends of the amount of details you want to reach.

sintel16 In reply to UAkimov09 [2014-11-18 22:27:04 +0000 UTC]

well, as you probably noticed, at least half of my work here is digital.
As I am looking for my own style, I do try different media
up until now, one of my favourites was pencil, but i do acrylic and oil paint (although I prefer acrylic - doesn't smell so bad
I also tried watercolours and recently glass paint
Lately I do a lot of digital drawing on the Wacom tablet and Photoshop.
I have to say I really like it even though there is still so much to improve and learn.
I find it easier especially as I do those drawings often as projects for the glass paintings
and it is somehow much easier to plan and draw and easy to correct mistakes digitally.
I love the layers option and this is the one you cannot really do on paper ;0

Also I came across some amazing digital work here on DA

so, well, as I am quite versatile in creating my art I have to say I like and appreciate all different ways and media
as long they let you  express yourself  and also create something beautiful, other people might enjoy

you should definitely try tablet with pen - they are amazing -
and very responsive - drawing with mouse is so difficult.
also, Photoshop is a really nice program to paint with

I thank you for all the comments you have made, it made me very happy
