When I was a child the Empire took everything from me, they burned our homes and slaughtered us, we were once many but now few of us remain, Mus is a dead world... But still, it's my home, and I will take it back-- I can't hide in a hole whilst others fight and die for me, I refuse, I want to fight too! Not for revenge, but for justice, and not just for me, but for everyone they've wronged, I want to do what's right, and make *them proud! ~Hafu of the Warrens**, voicing her Rebel's resolve.

By *them, she is refering to the brave band of aid-workers turned Rebels that saved her during the Empire's extermination of her people, specifically Isabelle and Chase.

**"of the Warrens" is a title, her people traditionally don't take surnames (with the exception of interspeciese partnerships, like with humans for example), and instead take their home as a title, originally Hafu's title name would have reflected either the city/town/village she was born in, or as with the rare case of off-worlders it would be "of Mus" (her people rarely traveled beyond their world), however she changed it to "of the Warrens" due to the significance of the Warrens purge.

Yay! Seems little Hafu's become quite popular, though here she's not quite so little anymore! Well, she is short, but that's besides the point! XD

Hafu initially started out as a character in a one-shot comic page, and basically served to put a face on the people the Empire persecutes, and the catalyst for Isabelle's transition from leading an aid organization to leading a rebel cell, however I really liked little Hafu, and ended up resolving to use her in the future, fast forward to now (the future, though you're probably reading this in the present... XD) and tadah!

This was inspired by SW: The Choices We Make , by SlingBlade87 , who as ever works wonders with my characters, and he's also discussed perhaps some writing focusing on Hafu, as years later, inspired by Isabelle and her group, joins the New Republic military, so yeah, ya'll might be seeing more of Hafu in the future!

Art wise, this was also heavily inspired by my time playing the Battlefront Beta, which I loved, for context the forces she's attached to are attempting to liberate another world from the Empire, and the ship that they were stationed on took heavy damage, so they were forced to evacuate via it's escape pods, she and her squadmates are now dodging enemy fire whilst they try to rendezvous with the New Republic ground forces, meanwhile the ship they were in, whilst going down, accelerates into the enemy Star Destroyer, sacrificing itself to swing the aerial battle in the Republic's favor. On the ground the battle is just as grueling, and a blaster-bolt nearly takes Hafu out, luckily it just hit her helmet, but the force of it snaps the strap, knocking it clean off!

Having lost her helmet Hafu is at once both terrified by how close she was to death, but also relieved, as her ears are no longer being crushed by it, her species have very sensitive ears, both to sound and touch (so much so that she can sense changes in the air and determine enemy movement through that), so having them folded tightly down under her helmet was both very painful and disorientating, at this point she's only recently joined the Republic, and still just a low ranking recruit, she hasn't had time to modify her gear outside of quickly cutting a hole in her trousers for her tail, later she properly modifies a helmet to allow her ears to poke through.

As ever this was really fun to draw, lots of ships, stars, and explosions! Hope ya'll enjoy, feedback is always appreciated!
