I've started having nightmares about when I was a kid, living in a box in an alley on Nar Shaddaa. I'm scared... Scared of falling asleep and waking up in that box, that all this, Mom, and Jae, that it was all just a dream, and I'm still living in that hellhole, it terrifies me sometimes, I find myself panicking, especially when Mom and Jae are away... It's not the squalor that scares me, nor the cold, or having to scrounge for scraps of food in garbage... It's the loneliness. I think if I woke up in that box, I'd just curl up and die, I can't take being alone anymore... Orchid Shara, diary, late-teens / early-adult, developing signs of post-traumatic stress relating to memories of her childhood before meeting Quinn.

She has no memory of her parents, she doesn't know if she was orphaned or abandoned, she doesn't even know her name, the earliest years of her life were spent alone, living in a box, in an alley behind a low-rate eatery, surviving off of the scraps they threw out, keeping herself hidden from the scum and villainy that fester on the Smuggler's Moon.

It's a horrible place, huh, so much garbage and rusted metal, and yes, there's a body in that dumpster, the place she lives that isn't a rare occurrence as the local Hutt cartels compete for criminal supremacy, thankfully ignorant to her existence.

When Quinn takes her in her life get's so much better, the two form an unbreakable bond as Quinn adopts her as her daughter, and for the remainder of her childhood years her past is put largely to the back of her mind, however as she grows up and begins to contemplate independence she starts to revisit the memories of her childhood...

Her childhood has a large effect on her personality, she's very dependent, clingy, and prone to stress, anxiety, panic, and depression, especially when she's alone, she frequently suffers nightmares (she can't sleep alone), and panic attacks (Quinn found the first panic attack she witnessed to be a very traumatic experience, as she struggled to calm Orchid down having never experienced anything like that)... However despite her horrible start in life Orchid is a very loving girl, and is incredibly affectionate (thanks largely to Quinn and Jaeriel's loving care), desperate to be loved. When near her family or friends, especially Quinn or Jaeriel, she couldn't be happier.
