Despite leaving the Order, there are still many who call me Master, and I must admit, it does make me feel a little uncomfortable, honestly it always has, Captain or Commander, I'm fine with, but Master, I don't know, it just makes me feel awkward, though there are those who know this and still call me Master just to tease me, and I guess I can live with it, Order or no Order, I am still a Jedi, I just walk my own path, hell for the first time in my life I'm actually free to do so, and it's... Daunting. Freedom to go anywhere, do anything, just what path do I walk? What legacy will I leave...? Quinn Shara's Memoirs, independent years, pondering the years ahead.-------
Star wars OC AU stuff! SlingBlade87 asked me to do a drawing with the SSD Starchaser for the SSD Starchaser profile , and I sort of got carried away. XD
This is based in the period between 30-40ABY, in which Quinn and co. travel the Galaxy in a heavily modified SSD (Check the profile above for details), providing aid and refuge to those seeking it, collecting and archiving ancient Jedi and Sith artifacts, and fighting against a rogue, neo-Sith faction.
In the foreground is Quinn herself, by this time she's in her fifties, although her hair has started graying she is a Jedi both skilled and powerful, and most importantly young at heart, for the first time in her life she's free to pursue her own destiny, and she's eager to use the resources at her disposal to explore the Galaxy's many secrets, and assist all within her power to do so. She now sports a mechanical left arm, losing her left arm during the Yuuzhan Vong War (she was forced to cut it off herself during combat to avoid bleeding to death...), it was crafted for utility, carrying many tools and such, a gift from Master Kahan, it includes several add-ons at her request, such as a Beskar guard capable of easily withstanding a Lightsaber blade, as well as conductive fingertips capable of absorbing Force Lightning, which could then be expelled through the palm, or converted into power to charge the arm itself. She also has a grappling hook mounted on her waist, she can aim it indirectly using her mechanical arm, it's programmed to mimic the orientation of the wrist. Quinn has also taken to weilding multiple weapons, alongside her main Green-bladed Lightsaber (originally her mother's, passed down the Sharan line) she carries Kiri Starchaser's old Cerise Lightsaber (although usually concealed in her left arm), and a Shoto which she made herself. An odd sight is to see Quinn wear a robe, she never wore traditional Jedi gear, even as a Master in the Order, she always wore Corellian casual-wear, and took a general disliking to Jedi attire, though in her later years she has taken somewhat of a liking to robes, though she wears them very loose, casually, and purely for comfort.
Behind Quinn (to the right) is Orchid, Quinn's adoptive Chiss daughter, she cut her hair short just prior to the Vong War, but it's since regrown, and following her union with Jaeriel she's really dedicated herself to learning wife's culture, she's wearing some Beskar'gam (which makes Quinn happy as she's pretty well protected in that stuff! XD), and has been learning Mandalorian, she's still a bit of an amateur at this point, and Jae insists it isn't necessary, but she insists she wants to, as she loves when Jaeriel talks Mando (often romantically... XD), and wants to understand it, and share in it.
Behind Orchid is her wife Jaeriel, and Jaeriel's sister Ay-lana is behind her, these two belong to SlingBlade87 and rayn44 , wanna know more about em', ask them! Or read about em' in the many stories!
Lastly, to the very left stands Kiri Starchaser, the SSD Starchaser's namesake, she once commanded it whilst it held the name SSD Nightmare, and during that time she was Quinn's enemy, the two were bitter rivals, however Quinn finally defeated Kiri, capturing Nightmare and starting the long process of reforming Kiri, the two would eventually become friends, and during the Vong War, whilst Quinn was reeling from losing her arm, Kiri sacrificed herself to ensure Quinn's rescue... Due to the long history between them this devastated Quinn, and she lead a decisive counter-offensive against the Vong in her sector with the SSD Goldsaber, formerly the Nightmare, under her command. Following the War she refused to surrender the ship that'd been a part of her life for so long, instead opting to strip it of it's more powerful arms, and renaming it in honor of Kiri.
Pheeeew! This was fun to draw, but sheesh, my hand hurts like hell! It was hard choosing how to draw the SSD Starchaser, but ultimately decided to draw it from below, as that's how most folks would see it, that's when I decided to draw Quinn and company! XD Oh, and I also got a crappy white ink pen, it's terrible quality, but i got it cheap enough, you get what you pay for, huh...
Those stars were a nightmare, dotting every little one, my wrist feels like it's dead... But hey! Stars! Ugh, all the little details on the SSD Starchaser caused the paper to crease slightly, it's so annoying, but I hope it doesn't show too much... =_=;

Great piece! each of the characters are done really well and I really love the contrast between the hard edges of the SSD and the wavy star pattern of the space around it.

This is really beautiful, really I couldn't ask for a better piece to adorn the profile and in fact I would argue that my piece really doesn't deserve such an addition!
As always I love all the little details you've added into the piece. Having Kiri there is just heartbreaking especially given what Quinn calls the Starchaser's AI core. And the ladies all look lovely, I'm especially happy with how you've portrayed Ay-lana. It's quite striking how much she looks like her mother! Orchid and Jaeriel look very happy together, and all of Orchid's attempts to be more like her mando wife are really touching and quite adorable I must say.
Quinn is the most interesting though to me in this piece. She's at once retained her youthful appearance and bearing, but oyu can see in her face that she has aged and is feeling the experience. Her expression is more somber than we usually see which lends a real sense of weight to her...you did quite well with her I must admit.

I really appreciate it, heheh, the details kinda' drive me crazy, all the stars for example, they were kind of a nightmare...
Heheheh, not gonna lie, Quinn is probably the best OC I've ever made, certainly the most developed, and in a way she represents my development as an artist and writer, she's very special to me, so I always strive to do her justice. ;w;
Indeed, she's faced many hurdles, and is stronger for them, but she isn't unscathed, she bares the scars, both physical and otherwise, she's ready to make her own future, but still chooses to bare the memories of those she's lost... I think the fact that she's wearing a robe here adds to her mature appearance, usually she wears jackets, when make her appear a little more youthful, clothes can make a big difference it seems, her hair has also lost it's slight strawberry tint, and is starting to gray, but she braids it back into her trademark style, a symbol of her youth to contrast. I really like her expression here, it's sort of like a reassuring smile, from someone who's been through hell but knows it gets better, and can smile because she knows however deep she falls her loved ones will catch her... ;w;

I think your 'silly concepts' as you call tehm are quite deserving of whatever attention and exposition they receive and more!
Honestly it adds a certain level of reflection since it was Kiri that either commanded or served aboard the Starchaser during its tenure as Nightmare and even thereafter she continued to be present during its service as Goldsaber.
I think Jaeriel would laugh (affectionately) at Orchid's obsession with her culture and perhaps goad her a little bit that they don't show more of their Jedi or Orchid's Chiss roots (though honestly as cool as the Chiss are that is exactly their problem: they're cold!). Still, her armor is quite lovely and I think reflects her beautifully as beskar'gam should.
I can certainly understand treasuring one's OC. Kahan is much the same for me and I've always tried to remain true to him even as his story and role within the galaxy has shifted.
Really though you can see how much care and devotion you've given over to Quinn here, it's obvious how she's aged and developed both physically and mentally through the things she has surrounded herself with.
...and you know, you and rayn44 are both constantly accusing me of making things that aren't things happen!
