Whenever my emotions are threatening to overwhelm me in the middle of a battlefield, fear, doubt, anger, she glances over at me, and smiling warmly, she taps the center-piece of her Beskar'gam twice, and then with two fingers points over to me, I don't even need to know the most fundamental of military hand signals to know what she's saying, it isn't in any handbook, she's saying "I love you", and with that I feel a second wind take hold... ~Orchid Shara's diary, on Jaeriel's gesture of reassurance and affection.

Juuuust some cute fun here, for SlingBlade87 's 800 watcher thing, been toying with different ideas for a Jaeriel/Orchid artwork, when this came to mind, and it just felt like the most "Jaeriel" thing. XD

I love stuff like military tactics, and in particular communication through different hand signs (I think it's called "Visual Signalling"?), I figure Jae being a Mando probably has at least some rudimentary knowledge of them, either from stories of her parent's exploits, through training from her parents when she wanted to join the Rebellion, or learned at the Rebellion, it just seems like something she'd probably know, especially when with all things considered she's probably one of the more professional members of Goldsaber. (don't trust Ashna to remember them... XD) This signal is special though, a personal one, "I love you.", or if it's accompanied with a cheeky grin "Love you, babe!"

As for the gesture itself I just improvised, the two taps on the chest is pretty self explanatory, she's tapping her heart for "Love", the finger point uses two fingers because two fingers in sign-language is the letter "U", so basically it's "Love U", and here Orchid is returning the gesture by waving her two fingers twice in a tapping motion, "U x2" or "You too".

God I just figured out why my teeth are so sore lately, it's these two, they're gonna give me cavities! XD
Anyhow I hope ya'll like it, as ever feedback is always appreciated, and congrats to Slade for reaching 800 watchers!
