Please god let this not turn out like absolute crap… obviously there are a few more drawings of her, I just included the ones that included her markings or changes in her overall form in general. NOT ME COPYING SEASALTSHRIMP’S FORMAT LMFAO IM SORRY

Let me tell y’all a story. I’ve stated before that the very first drawing of Redux was at school. March 2013. I was in sixth grade and was killing time, so I drew a dragonesque character working at a restaurant (I think Steak ‘n Shake to be specific) holding a bunch of plates with four arms. She didn’t have a name or even markings. I wish I still had that drawing lol. I didn’t have an account, but I was on dA quite a lot. I’ve been a huge HUGE fan of Shrimp since she was Fourth-Star and even years before that, along with GoldeyWasHere since Chonnie and Ava were a couple and not siblings qwq. Another one I was a fan of was Annicron and her MTTs (Jackdaw was one of my favorites, hence where Redux got her Mohawk from. Her original markings were also based on MTT markings oof). The first drawing in the submission above is the first official drawing of her I did at home where she has a name and a face. I was super into Hollywood Undead (still am but not as obsessed lmfao) and that’s where the name Redux came from.

I created her right before I got my first drawing tablet so of course she was my Guinea pig when I was able to use it (I USED ARTRAGE IF THAT TELLS YOU ANYTHING). Right after that, I created my first dA account called “ReduxQ”. It has since been deactivated rip. I made a couple friends and submitted regularly and got dang I wish I had more of those submissions. After a while, I created a Wattpad account (I know I know) and began to use that as my main art platform, thus deactivating ReduxQ. I made 3 art books on there over the course of like 2 years. I still have it but it’s under a different name and I don’t use it for art anymore (now I’m writing a story based on Thynadria where all my children live lol).

When I was done with Wattpad as an art platform, I moved to Instagram, but that didn’t last very long. After that, I was back to dA under my current username. The only drawing of her with her old markings before I gave her a re-up is called “Afternoon Flight”, since then she’s had stripes instead of arrows. She was also a boy for a couple years. But it really did not feel right looking at her and calling her “he” even though everyone who saw her said “WhAtS HiS nAmE?!??” like bruh.

This character is legitimately a comfort to me; the familiarity, the experiences, the journey is something I could not trade or sell for anything. I feel like she really is a sort of friend that I’ve known for the longest time. And before her was Textor, Kodie, and Vortex, and I have them to thank, as well. Her and I have been through a lot and have changed a lot together, and nothing is more fulfilling than having a character grow with you through your childhood. You watch each other grow… even though the character is literally from your own mind. She’s definitely an older character, but not the oldest, by far.
