Frame-Perfect! Code Red! Gamer in Goo!

After Contract Rider Papillon was filmed fighting against Marianne Chaumet and the Common Rider, the Adonis corporation broke their ties with her and focused their attentions on their second Rider: the young Tyler Tyler Tyler, Contract Rider Goo , who was promoted to the corporation's primary representative and Geister-fighter. However, Goo's lack of unsupervised combat experience and the fact that power output hadn't been a focus of the Goo System's development (which instead centered on enhanced reflexes and reaction speed) meant that he struggled to keep up against stronger Geisters — something that weighed on Tyler, who looked up to Papillon and wanted to be just like her.

To enhance Goo's combat abilities, Adonis developed a new form for him: Goo Code Red, which he debuted in battle against an enormous Meganeura Geister. However, even this power boost, he failed to defeat the giant insect, having to be saved by Papillon and Contract Rider Luxe ... which drove Tyler to despair, convinced that he'd never be able to live up to Papillon's example. As he gave in to his emotions, Tyler's belt distorted, growing jagged spikes as the transformation bottle shattered and the pipes on his suit burst, causing him to undergo another transformation.

Much like Contract Rider Pelose before him, Goo's anger and misery caused him to transform into a Geister himself — in Tyler's case, a monstrous gorilla-like creature formed from the slime that ran through his suit. This mindless, furious creature began lashing out at everyone around it, and was only brought down through the combined efforts of Papillon's allies and the monstrous strength of KT Dolmen . Though Tyler was able to be retrieved from the ruptured body of the Geister, he was critically injured, and only survived thanks to a makeshift field hospitalset up at Caffeine Kicks .

With Tyler taken to Our Mother of Ultra Hospital to recover, Mari and the other Riders discovered that the Code Red bottle had been deliberately sabotaged to force Tyler's transformation into a Geister using technology provided by Golgom; Adonis had intended to discredit Riders as a whole in order to profit off the resulting void in public security. With a little extra encouragement from Luxe Miserables' Guillotine Cleaver , Mari was able to wrangle the corporate jargon to "persuade" Adonis executive Herman Scrugg to both reinstate the access codes for Papillon's belt and provide a substantial retirement fund for Tyler, who — as a result of his transformation into a Geister — was facing ongoing physiological changes. Upon his release from hospital, Mari encouraged Tyler to spend some time with Gerry Ecruci, who helped him to adjust to existence as a post-human being.

The joke of Contract Riders is that everything is a stupid joke until someone decides to give it pathos.

Being a "fake upgrade", Code Red was designed as a quick-and-dirty "retool" of Goo's base form, with a new helmet crest modeled on the spiky-hair-and-headband of Tyler "Ninja" Blevins (no relation — per his creator , "the origin of tyler's name is that he's just every whiteboy streamer rolled into one person, and he was originally gonna have three whiteboy names (Chad Tyler Bradley) but i thought it would be funnier if he just had the one name three times"). With Goo being a Mountain Dew joke, Code Red is of course based on the cherry-flavoured Dew variant.

Since the "Goo Geister" was described as resembling a gorilla, I took some influence from Dragon Ball's oozaru/great ape; I also looked to Batman villain Clayface to give it a suitably ooze-y feel. On top of that I decided to give it base Goo's big "ahoge" on its forehead, mostly because I thought it would be funny.

Goo's base form was designed by Speed_Freak01 , which was adapted into Code Red by me. The Goo Geister was designed by me.
