He's a cutie!!! I think he's an endless pit of expressions...if one gets them out of that attempt at being arrogant he has all over him! But honestly, poor guy, who could blame him in the court he lives within???

It was tricky, but fun to make!...Now the others are in line for filling this meme up! (Though I've been trying with skekUng, and ALL his faces seem to range only from "Rage" to "Bitter bitter anger" XD
EVEN HIS "Happiness" Looks more  like "Possessed by a killing hatred"

I am happy you like how the expressions look!
Yes...it is kinda complicated to distort a non-human face into expressions which are intended to mean something to humans .
I fought my temptation to not paint it...Lately I'm afraid of color...because I always am afraid to ruin things when I paint them...but I decided to get out of my "comfortable area" and try it...and I'm quite happy with how they look! I think I'll do a chart for each one of them in time!...

I always believe the colour is one of the greatest power I can add in drawing. I'm suck in inking instead, and yeah, lately I don't ink my drawing.

All I can say is...my only formula to draw consistently is to reduce your character's face to basic shapes. their faces can look like potatoes, beans, or geometric figures like spheres, cones or squares. It depends on the characters. Once you know how your character's face basic shape is, use that shape as a guide. In the case of this skeksis, he's basically a "cone inserted in a ball". The ball stands for his head and the cone for his beak. Once you have this concept, just grab those forms and twist them, distort them, turn them in different angles, and locate where the character's features fit within those shapes. That will help you through it! ^^
 

I took a minute and made this...sorry about the quality...I suck at drawing with mouse...but it's all I could do for now! I hope it helps! ^^
