I drew SkekUng easter egg with this face on the top with the "hug me you fools!" written on it That was so wrong, it was just a face attached to the easter egg!

SkekSil loves his little plots... that's why (but not only!) we love him!

Ahhhh I see I'm not the only one who finds them likeable! (we're every day more!!!)
Their wrinkly birdlike faces and their expressiveness were what made The Dark Crystal such an experience for me!

That, I'm not sure! Though I believe Jim Henson once said they were supposed to be "a combination of predatory bird, lizard, and dragon...and in gender, a mix of the two!"... So...wow. Hermaphroditic bird-lizard dragons!...I gotta love them!!!

For sure! There is something in their wrinkly faces that tells a story, of history and hardship and a long life. Gives them a lot of character! Haha hermophoditic bird-lizard-dragons, YES!

AH! That is the same book Dondena asked me about!...Nope, I do not have it...I don't even know for sure if it was ever published here...It's a big one? A kind of art book? O.O
I wish I had it, however it is... As much as I still desire the World of the dark crystal, which doesn't exist in my country...and will not enter easily because of our recent shipping problems...oooogh....I wish so much I could put my hands on that book!!!!
Now your question makes me wonder how the heck did I reproduce an image I believe I have never seen!!! TT_TT Though I wish I had!
Still...now I wonder...
I had a friend when I was little, who had a small Kira doll her dad had bought in the USA, along with a book...He was a kind of salesman and used to travel a lot, so she had lots of things none other of us could get at the time...The 80's were a void of merchandise here! XD Having a thing from the USA was like winning an oscar!...
That kid used to have that book on the dark crystal, and I can't remember it quite well, but it was beautiful and it shocked me so much that I'd never have it...that day I knew what envy truly was...(Not that I hated my friend, of course, but I would have given anything for that book!!!)
All I remember about it is that it was pinkish in the cover...and had Jen and kira there. Or so I think...It's been too long and I only saw the book a few times. I remember her mom was very naggy about books and won't let her flip the pages in fear that I'd break something...(I'd NEVER rip a book...not even when I was very young...but oh, well...)
I lost contact in time, with that friend...that was back when I was 9 yrs old I think...
I can remember the Kira doll with a rubber head and painted eyes...and the pinkish cover of the book with the two gelflings in it...THERE WERE skeksis inside, but I can't recall if I liked the illustrations of them...I do remember loving that there were Chamberlain images though...but not how the pictures were exactly...
I am wondering if I kinda recalled an image from there and reproduced it?...I don't have an idea of how alike they are those you say to my drawing and I don't know if we're talking about the same book because I remember so few...but is that even possible? I wish I could recall what the book's title was, at least! X(

I'm intrigued....

es que si lo haces bien mujer yo soy floja , con decirte que lo que no hago en dibujo en escultura si XDD ;_; hice a mi pekeña vv con moñito y no la hice chinita ;__; s eme olvido bububub xd sigue asi con tus bellos dibujos a ver si cuando domine mas la escultura hago a la bella kira x3

si tu no lo entiendes yo emnos XDD solo se que estoy en paso 1. modelado en arcilla  para el 2.. creo que es armatoste y de ahi modelo ;__; es mi muñekita le cambie el peinado porque ella tenia 2 coletas y em dijo que el haga un moño , esta bien los cambios peor son dificiles >//< gracias x todo y las hurras x33 amiguita

I am so HAPPY that you like these!!!
I needed to practice to make them more coherent in the comics!
Ung's face's still hard for me to get right...so damn SHORT AND ANGULAR in comparison to most others...and that HAIR...may be scraggly but it's EVERYWHERE!!!
Part facial hair part head hair...ughnnnnnn....
Sil was made just for fun...and comparison, besides practice. I might make these kind of sheets also for the others in time!


Books on the Dark Crystal?

Nope. I wish I had at least one   
Here in my country, they never got published in their time, and those which did were far too expensive...Now there aren't any.
For example, the great book "world of the dark crystal", I never even saw that one inperson.
I'd kill for that book!!! But I cannot afford to ask it through internet, besides most of the trade posts here are half closed now, and whatever enters Argentina stays in the trade posts offices, and must be overpayed with the 80% over it's value to be delivered...Uggghhhh.
I really wish I could have that damn book. Or at least some other about the Dark Crystal...
Are there many??? O.O...MANY MANY???
I do have the first issue of the manga, but nothing more...That, and the "Dark Crystal creation myths" comics I downloaded and read through the computer...Not whole anyways, only until the issue where the mystics and the gelflings flee after the crystal cracking and the great division...And reading it in the screen...sighhhh it's not the same for me. I ADORE BOOKS. Real books...Perhaps it's an AGE thing, but I rather actual books over virtual ones.

I just had asked about the books because one of your sketches of SkekSil in that one
really reminded me of how well he was drawn in a book called The Tale of the Dark Crystal.
Sil had captured Kira and had her before Ung in that pic. It just reminded me of that.

Well, I have the Garthim Wars, the original novel, a scrapbook of sorts with pics, the World
of the Dark Crystal, Creation Myths 1 and 2, and the Henson Company in New York even sent
me some pics back in 2000. So yeah, some special books. And Tale of the Dark Crystal. I'm just
waiting on the final Creation Myths book.

And also when it comes to books, I have more horse books than I know what to do with!

And though the shipping system down there for you sucks, at least seeing or reading them over
the internet isn't the same, but at least you get to read it.

OH!...You know what's weird? (not to mention funny!) asked me the same thing, and I didn't know what book she referred to...sadly I don't have anything of The dark Crystal except for the first issue of the manga and the download of "creation myths" (where I can't believe skeksis don't have hair OR breasts when just born!...sheesh I'm a nerd)
I told her nope, for I don't have any book on it...the recalled when I was about 9 yrs old an old friend of mine DID HAVE  a Kira doll and a book her father had bought her in USA (which was weird and special those days here...having something from another country was rare and very coveted by us kids!) Then...I could only recall the book cover (pinkish and with the gelflings on it). I only paged through it two or three times because my friend's mom wouldn't let me touch much of anything...rich people, meh. But I did recall there were pics of the chamberlain in, who was my favorite, and that I loved them...still I didn't recall how they looked!...
I wondered and asked weasel-girl if she thought it could be a small bit of my memory coming back in that image...which I frankly don't recall... as the rest of the book...
Weasel-girl searched the cover of the book and sent me the pic, I'm pretty sure it was that one, the same my friend had years ago!...And she even found the pic which you both thought inspired mine I'M STILL BEDAZZLED, THEY'RE SO ALIKE!!!...It's crazy for me how much can they look the same without even recalling why I had that one image of those two so clear in my mind when I drew that sketch...now I think it had to be that same book I saw years and years ago...I somehow had that image there in my brain though I didn't knew it...and I think I reproduced it mechanically in a way...but it is a crazy thing!!! I'm happy too, that you and weasel-girl gave me back a good memory of my childhood! ...
And then...YOU WERE RIGHT!...And she was also!...

WOOOOOOWWWW!!!! I just have the garthim wars ( trial by fire never got to my country...SIGH), and a digital download of both creation myths and the novel by A.C.H.Smith... Of course I have the movie! XD
I wish I can some day put my talons in some of those books....

Hehehehe I understand you...I have more books than those I can mantain in order...they're falling off over me every time I open up my bookshelf which is luckily shut behind doors. They are set in two lines one before another, then over the lines there are piled books...and between door and line of books, the last ones, pushed forcibly in place. Every time I want to take one, the rest rain over my head! XD
Many are about ancient myths, dragons, fairies, mythical things etc...then there's also many novels and essays, and some about medicine and tecnical drawing...And...animals...biology...well, there are more than I can even count!...^^u They're never enough for me!!!

Yes...what I regret is I couldn't read or see anything of "the world of the dark crystal"...ughhhh...nothing online...I want to check it SO BAD...

I'll plan on getting that new Dark Crystal book that's going to be released
in a couple weeks, A.C.H's version of the Dark Crystal novel is getting a hardcover
upgrade. I have the novel, but maybe a hardcover might be better.

Someone else had pointed it out to me. They had thought it was the
World of the Dark Crystal. But its entirely different.

Someone long ago did send me a Internet scan of the novel. If I can find the
email they sent, as I saved it, I might be able to send it to you.
