Description I REALLY need to sit down and learn how to use Photoshop, because I would have loved to have manipulated the background to look like it was on fire.

Anyway, this adorable looking PokΓ©mon is Vulpix. Easily the trickiest model to date, but totally worth every ounce of stress. It's so gorgeous that even my husband commented on it's cuteness - and he normally he widens his eyes and nods at my finished PokΓ©mon models! "... riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight ..."

I can only stress that if you have any inclinations of building this, whatsoever, good paper (120gsm) and the best glue that you can get your hands onto, are absolutely essential. Thanks to Brandon for this cutie-pie.

This particular model probably took me about 4-5 hours, (plus the curing time overnight sitting on it's butt waiting for the tail to stay stuck on)

This one was reasonably difficult though, compared to other PokΓ©mon models I have done, but so very cute.

But the more models I build, the harder it is to gauge the difficulty level - this one would have been somewhere around the vicinity of no. 24-ish or so.

haha i have no idea of the difficulty systemXD Ive actually never done any papercraft like this b4. Do you know how they come up with the diagrams? I'm assuming they model it in 3D on the computer and then somehow create a net from that.

Well, it starts off with a 3d model. Some are rendered from scratch, and some, in the case of these PokΓ©mon, are ripped from games using various programs.

Then it is edited in a 3D rendering program - because the 3D virtual model is often not compatible in a papercraft format.

E.g.: body parts are either embedded in the body, or detached completely and therefore need to be attached properly.

Then after that someone has to unfold it in another program and that is not always as easy as it sounds.

There is auto-unfolding which is almost always impossible to build, and then there is thoughtful and considered unfolding which make a model easy and pleasurable to construct.

It's a pretty involved process, which is why PaperpokΓ©s has such a large team. It consists of designers, editers, unfolders, and builders.

Very cuddle worthy, but not necessarily the best thing to do to a paper model, lol!

My model about 12cm tall but I need to amend that to about 16cm for release so that all the PaperpokΓ©s models are standardized.

This will also make building it easier for most people ... the tail will be heavier, though.

Hmmm ... perhaps the answer to that would be to print out the tail sections on lighter paper.

I don't know, but as soon as it's publicly released, I'll send you the link.

You have to teach me that fire/water layer thing in Elelments!

I MUST know how to do it - I downloaded a For Dummies PDF and that was a total waste of bandwidth!

I had to alter a couple of small things on the version you got - I'll up the final edit into the ftp for you sometime this weekend.

I'll try. But if you've noticed I haven't done it again... because, shhh, I'm not sure I can do it again. LOL.
