Description I REALLY need to sit down and learn how to use Photoshop, because I would have loved to have manipulated the background to look like it was on fire.

Anyway, this adorable looking PokΓ©mon is Vulpix. Easily the trickiest model to date, but totally worth every ounce of stress. It's so gorgeous that even my husband commented on it's cuteness - and he normally he widens his eyes and nods at my finished PokΓ©mon models! "... riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight ..."

I can only stress that if you have any inclinations of building this, whatsoever, good paper (120gsm) and the best glue that you can get your hands onto, are absolutely essential. Thanks to Brandon for this cutie-pie.

You can go to www.pokemonpapercraft.net/2009… and hit either the A4 or Letter download link, depending on your country's default paper size.

how do you make these right so the tabs don't stick out? I tried to make a Domo papercraft before but the Tabs were everywhere, I was stupid and tried to cut them.... it fell apart after that -___-

It's all about practice. The more you build, the better you'll get.
Good luck

Thank you! You still can have one, sitting right on your desk: all you need to do is read the FAQ on our site, download the Vulpix pack and start building it yourself, then one day, TA-DAH! You too shall have one to love and to hug (very gently) and to call your very own.

The tail can be a little tricky, but with the right glue and paper, I'm sure you'll be able to do it!

Thank you.
This model was a little tricky in certain spots, but don't give up - it's too pretty to give up on.

You should have received a ZIP file, and when you extract the archive, you will find a PDO file, and several PDF files. The PDO can only be opened via a program called Pepakura Viewer, that you have to install on your PC. The PDFs can be viewed via a PDF reader, from which you can print.

Google? It's the first link.

I finally got it to print. i'm going to build it after I finish vaporeon. There are alot of peices I don't knwo where they go.

Skele-kitty In reply to Lunanightwolf [2011-03-25 06:44:04 +0000 UTC]

That's where Pepakura comes in handy - if you open up the PDO in Pepakura Viewer, and move your mouse over the template pieces, they will show you which edge goes with which corresponding piece. Then if you click on a piece, it will show you in the 3D model where it sits and how it is shaped in reality.

I'll have to get it on my laptop. Sounds really cool. So far I'm failing at it all because i'm just using glue and plain paper. I'm going to go buy craft glue and craft paper sometime soon and try again. Thank you for all your help

No worries

You should probably read the FAQ page on our site as well: it's a little long, but it's full of relevant information regarding how to papercraft well.

tell me, you made it without instructions?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Skele-kitty In reply to xluftiax [2011-02-17 09:21:29 +0000 UTC]

The "instructions" are the PDO file that are included in the download pack. You need to install Pepakura Viewer and then attache all the pieces to their corresponding parts.

If you have never papercrafted before, I would not recommend Vulpix - it's not the easiest model - many people have struggled with the tail section. But, then again, my first model was not an easy/beginner model either.

Good luck.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Skele-kitty In reply to Prisma-Fox [2010-11-07 09:25:22 +0000 UTC]

No tutorial, sorry.
What you do get in the download pack is a PDO - this is your virtual instruction manual.
Open the PDO in Pepakura Viewer:
- you will be able to rotate the model around in virtual space, and
- when you move your mouse across the template pieces, you should be able to see the pieces match up with their adjoining edges.

This is my absolute favorite pokemon of all time, and I am sooo glad that you decided to make this one! I can't believe that this is actually made out of paper. It is so awesome and neatly done! Just for the record, how much would this one cost if you decided to sell it? Anyway, thanks for making this, and I am definitely adding you to my DeviantWatch. I have seen your gallery, and I am curious to see what you fold up next. Have you ever had an aspiration to fold all 493 pokemon? Haha. Thanks again for posting! ^^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Skele-kitty In reply to 16Shadows [2009-08-06 04:27:06 +0000 UTC]

LOL, Sell it? Oh, I don't think you'd want this one - it's a little dusty and worse-for-wear.

You should have a go at making it, some time. It is an intermediate difficulty model, so if you are new to papercrafting, you should perhaps make a few easy level crafts first - just to get a feel for things. But if you have any problems, don't hesitate to contact me.

My advice to you and to everyone else, above everything, is to use 120gsm paper and the really, really, really glue (We recommend Aleene's Original Tacky Glue or Power Pritt gel)

As for the 493 PokΓ©mon, we may do all of them, it's hard to say. It is an awful lot of models, but we've already made ~100 in less than one whole year, who knows?

Thank you for your wonderful words of encouragement.
