The back cinch is to prevent the back o the saddle to go up when something is attached and pulling on the horn of the saddle ;3 So basically only optional if it aint for pulling.

i love this however there's more then just one kind of western saddle you have the barrel racing saddles, ones for reining, western pleasure and trail.Β

western is better for really hot days i mean you throw on a shirt, jeans, helmet, boots and sweat free the whole day. but English is like putting on stuff to go into a blizzard (no offense English riders) and sweating to death in the hot sun.

actually, i really like english riding, only that i can't stop
falling from these stupid saddles T^T
i have been riding most of my life on a western saddle,
even with the most crazy horses i never fell,
but for the last year i'm riding on an english saddle, i fallen of the horse like 9 times... *~*

Then skip the saddle entirely and build dem damn muscles xD
... Worked for me and i never fell!!!
