My CalArts freshman film! Decided to upload it to my gallery as well as my journal. I'll try to post a better quality version on Vimeo soon.

I -love- this. The way the birds ruffles its feathers and the sort of twitchy movements that you've managed to add in is great. (I tried animating a pigeon once, didn't go so well with the twitchy-ness, so major respect to you for managing that. o.o) Also, the imitations of the other animals had me in stitches. I'm also a sucker for birds laughing. It's so funny. x)

Didn't get to watch it in sound, but the visuals alone was great. You made the bird natural in the way it moved and stretched its feathers once it landed. I'll have to rewatch it when I get home today!

I'm a character animation student at CalArts, so currently my entire animation education has been based there. At the time of this film I had taken one semester of traditional animation class. I then animated this, which is where I really learned a lot about observing life and trying to break down the movements in animation.

wow, you obviously put extra effort into making him bird-like, those head swivels were really good. that, and the way he literally 'puffed up', which was both bird-like and poetic.

Really nice work! I love the devilish personality you gave the bird, really gets irritating!
There's some inconsistency with the pacing of the animation though, in some places there are too many frames and the action is too slow. (ie. the bird flying to the power line)
But this film has a great plot! And every single animal is quite lovable, despite the mocking from the bird.

You got the normal birdie movements down pat, without making him look mechanical or creepy. That makes this bird geek v. happy. (And his floofing! The floofing!)
