Another Study, I'm aware these look nothing like the reference and I apologise for that but I try, I swear !!!I'm new to these semi-realistic/realistic paintings, so they will be overly stylized in a way
anyhoooo!

Well, I'm sure that "nothing like" is wrong (unless the reference was a sea turtle :-D ). Plus, art has a range, from realistic to abstract, from faithful reproduction to interpretation to "just" being inspired--a new thing that is inspired by a reference, for example. What counts, to me, is that when I saw this I thought "how beautiful" and that is enough for me.

Thank you so much for your comment! I've been trying to achieve a more realistic look to portraits and crossing a barrier I set to myself regarding the use of lines, I'd like to get something in between, but the traits still look very "cartoony" in my point of view. I'm glad you said that, the main purpose was to replicate the picture accurately, but I see I can be just inspired by it and create something different, just like you said, and I might try that next time! thank you again ♥

I get what you mean about use of lines. I struggle with that, too. Finally going to take art classes this fall (some folk can go a long way with being self-taught, others, like me, need more instructor involvement. We all have different strengths and weaknesses.) Anyway, you definitely have talent and I am looking forward to seeing your abilities grow. And I stand by my reaction to this study: how beautiful.

I completely see where you're coming from, and I agree. We have to go about drawing knowing so many aspects of it,so having a professional guidance is sometimes very useful!
