Verdi snaps his teeth at her playfully, giving her full view of the sharp chompers. "Careful now, my bite and my bark are on equal playing fields now."

Kia chuckled. "Oh good, then I have nothing to be scared of." She smirked. "besides your tree trunk legs."

"Considering the fact that you look like a stray coatala that's been hit with one too many brooms, I'm not too concerned." Verdi smirks back

"Whats that?" Kia held her hand near her ear. "I could hear you over the sound of you giant teeth clanking together."

"Perhaps you couldn't hear me because one of your ears has gone AWOL in the war"

"Maybe it went to find your missing taste in humor." The door suddenly swung open. "Honestly you two! Bickering right after Kias accident? How many wynglins are in this house?!" Kia looked over. "You lost count yourself?"

"To be frank, I'm surprised she lasted this long." Verdi says, sounding impressed, "She deserves some credit."

Traumer glared daggers to the pair, then closed the door. Her hooves echoing down the hall. Kia chuckled and held her hand for a high five. "Nice one~"

Verdi returns the high five. "I get better with age, my dear sister."

"At least one part of you does." She smirked. Traumers hooves were back in the hall

Verdi looked at the door curiously. "Has she counted to ten already?"

The door opened again and Traumer was smiling. In her arm was the family puckoo Bubble. She set the fowl in the room then closed the door.

Verdi yelps and scrambles onto the bed, hiding behind Kia. "Mother, this is overreacting a bit, don't you think?!" He yells after her before Bubbles chirps and frightens him

Kia looked to him silently, blinking a few times. Bubble tilted its head slightly and walked closer to the bed.

"Bubbles, get back, get back!" Verdi warns, tossing a pillow at the puckoo

The pillow landed in front of the bird, who didnt even react. "Verdy..." Kia looked back with a large, barley suppressed grin. "Are you...afraid of little bubbles?"

"W-With reason! I swear that thing is plotting my murder!" Verdi argues, "Look at it, look at that mouth, those eyes! It's not natural!"

Kia tilted her head. "Really?" She leaned down right in Bubbles face. "Hmm...you know...i think your right." Suddenly she grabbed the bird and brought it right up to Verdys face. "SHES COMING RIGHT FOR YOU!"

Verdi actually screams, leaping backwards and slamming into one of his bookshelves. A couple books wobble before falling onto his head, making him yelp. "Now that was uncalled for!" He barks

Kia laughed hysterically. "You're scared of little old bubbles?" She cooed. Te puckoo in her hands tilted its head and blinked.

Verdi rubs his head and puts the books away. "P-Puckoos are little demons."

Kia laughed. "Ohhh I'm using this against you for a looong time~"

"You're a cruel, cruel mistress." Verdi says before smiling softly, "I'm glad you're alright."

Kia laughed. "I am too buddy." She says before feeling something warm fall onto her lap, "Oh SON OF A- Damn it bubbles thats disgusting!"

Verdi blinks before keeling over laughing.

"IT's not funny! Thats gross!"

"That makes it better!"

"You take her while i get this off me!"

"Fuck no, I'm not touching her!"

"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY VERDY?!" Traumers voice roared on the other side of the door.

Verdi groans and rolls his eyes. "Here we go..." He mouths before going to meet his fate
