Description
As I lay on the soft grass bank of Atitlan, I scrawled my shallow negativity... The more I slipped down the spiral, the more darker my thoughts became... manifesting knarled fists scratching out cathartic drivel as I dwell on the day's meanlingless inconveniences...Then...
Something snapped... I couldn't believe the day could possibly be anywhere near as grim as it'd become in my mind. On a whim, I rewound the entire day back to my awakening moments... I now scribed and focused only on what DID go right, and any pleasantries I could recall... The more I found light, the more light there was! The light soon overwhelmed the dark and what had just moments prior been a horrible day, was now the complete opposite! All of the previous darkness seemed nothing more than shadow during a glorious royal blue day... I was free. I couldn't believe how just a slight change of attitude could have such a profound effect on my day... my mind... my soul.
All was right, and as I closed my journal, I looked up in time to catch the sun setting over volcano-rimmed lago Atitlan, Guatemala. If only I could remember that simple yet profound lesson....

Wow. Absolutely beautiful. It looks so idyllic. I love the colors you have captured in the clouds. And the reflections in the water are amazing. Just enough to add some "sympathetic" color but still blurry so that it doesn't take away from the rest of the picture.

i mean,...it's not just a beautiful image with beautiful colors. each and every segment seems to have it's on character.
the clouds have such unique shapes. the reflection on the water is just magnificent, and i love that line that seems to
cut through it leaving the reflections dangling, cut off from the shoreline.
and it's such brilliant beautiful color. everywhere!
wonderful uplifting shot!

There are so many sunset photographs in the world and I have taken about half of them. It's at the point where whenever I see one I think "How cliche'". But if I look at anyone of these pictures, crappy composition, or beautiful one for long enough I can remember that the photograph every one of these pictures was an attempt to catch a moment that moved someone. Aftre that realization, they are the best photographs ever.
It's not like I can stop taking sunset photos my own self.

oh my gosh, this has got to be my favorite landscape photo you've ever shot, actually that anyone's ever shot! I just can't describe how awesome it is to look at it! that is just so crazy how great of a photograph you captured. You know what's fun to do? curl up your index finger and thumb to make a tiny hole you can look through and look through it at the photo and move it around looking at the different areas of the photo and it makes you feel like you're actually there. hehe, or not. i'm probably just crazy. ^^

absolutely gorgeous! the colors are incredible, perfect -- wow! Great choice of frame, too
-- I can't decide if I am misunderstanding how shadows work or something, but that blurred line between the mountain and the mountain shadow? another "looks off" to me for some reason
