Kind of, she's based in it, but I sort of imagined her existing after headmasters and before all that craziness that happened in Beast machines, the timeline is really strange.

I think the difference is that I did not go in depth about her character details or additional characteristic about her, this is just her turning around, a consistency practice.

Any continuity that doesn't already have a name from another continuity can leave an opportunity or two I'd Say. Hell, that's why I named my seekers Radar and Sonar, though the former name has been used in the IDW comics. Then again, there was another bot in those comics that used to call himself Prowl, so I GUESS I can get away with it? >.>

Transformers continuity is like pudding, it has no solid lines in it and you try cutting it and dividing it and it just gets more confusing.

At this point the timeline is more like a multiverse, crossed with a weird timeline, because you've got G1, beast wars, beast machines, headmasters which is one entire mess.

And the fact that the animated movie didn't air in Japan the same time as it did in the west makes it worse. e.g. Prowl in Headmasters.

Adding on that G1 and the comics that go along with them already don't value continuity or consistency in either case. (with the story or the personalities of the characters) so you've already got a lot of plotholes the manhandle with.

My idea was that she was an Autobot who suffered damage during her Protoform state, and was born without the ability to transform, so she modeled herself after the pre-war cybertronians, not only to reflect her own personal ideals on how she'd like things to be, but to help with her disability. She's currently a communications manager for New Iacon on Cybertron. That's what I've got so far, she needs lots of work.

Oh! I feel like this has a classic G1 vibe to it and I must say I like it.

I'm usually not for "hair" on Transformers, but this is a redo of my very first Transformers OC, and the improvement is tremendous but I tried to semi preserve what made her herself. Although I wouldn't recommend the practice. Thank you! I was going for a G1 vibe, her design was meant to call back to the pre-war cybertronians with the simpler designs with no alt mode.

Ah ha! So my gut was right about the G1 look.
I have never once attempted to give any of my TF/mecha characters "hair", but I've seen some people pull it off rather well.
Staying as true as you can to an initial design is a challenge in and of itself seeing as how we as artists continue to improve in technique as well as character design. I know I've looked back on a character's initial design and cried bitter tears of shame.
So Highwire is your very first TF OC? How long have you had her?

From when I was 13, so about 5 years, I actually wanted to hide her away so so one would find her but I changed my mind and tried to fix her. Her name used to be "Skyfire" before I realized there was an Autobot that already existed with that name. She used to look pretty bad. Terrible actually, she is serviceable now.

She's gone through quite the revamp over the years! We all had to start somewhere, it's surreal to look back and see how much you've progressed art-wise, isn't it?

It is a bit, although a part of me wishes I had progressed faster, although some progress is better than none, I hope to improve her more as time goes on.
