Your take on the eyes is very... I don't have a good word for it, and I'm too lazy to search. It's not particularly bad or good, but it's a very distinct style. Great job!

which paper texture or stock did you use? or did you create it? it's a lovely effect, if the texture is available for download somewhere i'd love to know where. (: and if you made it, i'd really love to know how you did!

I use several stock papers and watercolor textures... Unfortunately, I got them years ago and I can't remember where, and they've all been heavily modified to do what I want them to do, anyway. But for these, I use four primary textures: a heavy-grain paper stock, an aged paper stock, a primarily red/yellow watercolor stock, and a primarily blue one. I basically slap everything on as linear burn layers, then lighten/darken them one by one until I get the look I want.

You should totally separate out the individual layers you used to do this, and make it into a papercraft template or something. I'm sure people could love to have this paper vector in real life.
