I actually thought this was a pencil drawing. It looks like an old fairy tale illustration. If you dashed little subtle colors, close to a watercolor look, that would add prettiness (but anywho, hope you finish it?). I am curious; Do you start your paintings with a detailed drawing? (lol, sorry for impolitely saying/asking information) DX

I dont know if I ever will finish it since I havent painted in an age. Some I start with a detailed drawing others I drew on the canvas freestyle.
Then I started to blow up pencil drawigns with photo copies to transfer to canvas but ,I found out that tiny drawings blown up huge often looks all wrong!

And the weeks pass with my consciousness not feeling it. Um, thank you for your reply! You must have an awfully big scanner to make photo copies that match the size of canvases; I wish I could that, blowing up my tiny drawings. XP

no scanner at all. What I do is take the drawing to the photo copy store and have it blown up in segments then tape or glue the peices together. put a chalk covered peice of transfer paper on the back and when you trace over the lines it tranfers onto canvas.

I kinda like it's unfinished look. Gives it a bit of an eerie feeling. I keep thinking the person in front could turn to look at me at any moment lol.

Out of curiosity... what did you use for the blue sketch? I absolutely love that tone and feel---though an incomplete painting---it has that... uhhhhh... what's the word.... 'manuscript'-like demeanor.

I think it was prussian blue. Though it looks slightly aqua. I usualy started either with ocher ,prussian or raw umber for a sketch on the canvas.
Im not sure its been a long time.
Yeah I got ya I do like that its so misty it leaves alot to the imagiation and is almost like its faded from time.

First to comment again..... So you dripped turps and linseed oil down before starting eh?
I can see how you'd make an easy transition to your sculptures from the paintings.... Your figure work is fabulous!
