He looks like Deadpool-Carnage. What symbiote took over him?

This is Deadpool from Cable & Deadpool #50 (the final issue of the series), when he gets infected with the symbiote. I forget exactly where it comes from (I think another part of the earth). Anyways, the symbiote infects a bunch of dinosaurs, and Deadpool, being the mastermind that he is, accidentally teleports them to Manhattan. A bunch of superheroes team up to fight them off (Fantastic 4, Ms. Marvel, Spiderman ect.). While they are battling the symbiotes, Deadpool accidentally gets infected, and becomes what you see here. Funnily enough, Deadpool's healing factor allows him to live infinitely, and the symbiote knows that, so obviously the symbiote has no intentions of leaving Deadpool. Deadpool, realizing this, promptly stabs himself in the head with a spear (ouch), which is actually quite a pity because I would've loved to see symbiote-Deadpool wreak some havoc.
If you want, I could find a digital scan for you so that you could read it yourself...

Thanks, for both the info and the offer. I think I remember reading part of that issue, but it's been a while.

Ok, firstly, I'm a huge Deadpool fan and have always been, so I tend to be really critical when it comes to art about him. And I have to say, this is by far one of my favorite symbiote pictures of him! I just love the vividness of those colors, and you did an amazing job with the shadows here, still holding on to the red which is the main color on Deadpool, and what makes him such a bad-ass. You could've gone a little darker with some of the shadows, though, as it would've brought a bit more depth and dimension to the picture. I do like the fact you made sure the red kind of shows in the shadows, and that works well in here, but it could've made it even better to have some strong shadows somewhere in the bunch. So, I'm not even sure whether or not I'd want you to change that, because I still like the picture a lot as it is. I also adore the details you added to the picture; they really bring it alive, such as the yellow glow on the background that really fits well with all the red and kind of makes the character jump up from the picture.
Anyways, I think you did an amazing job with an amazing character. I'll definitely return to this picture whenever I want to find some artwork about Deadpool.

Oh my goodness gracious!
Thank you so, so much for your wonderful and incredibly generous comment! It literally made my day! It makes me so happy to know that you are so pleased with it, that even the things you change about it, you're really not sure you would want to! It's comments like yours that make 6-7 hours of straight drawing/coloring worth it! Actually I, myself, had thought of making the shadows darker and more dramatic, as well as adding some lighting to make it more realistic, as the lighting in this drawing isn't falling brightly enough in the right places. I hope you'll come back and let me know what you think after I've retouched it!
Anyways, thank you so much again! I don't have words to express how happy this comment made me! It's commenters like you that make DA a great place!
P.S. If you're interested, I pulled out my old 90's deadpool comic books a while back, and I sat down and drew two pages from it. I have the black&white inks posted on DA, as well as the digitally-colored version Take a peak at it, if you think you'd enjoy it!

You're very welcome, and thank you - also - for your kind words. I've always loved getting comments, so I try and leave as many as I can to give other people the same joy I get when reading comments.
And I'll definitely get back to your gallery when I get some time for it. I actually took a small tour there, and liked what I saw. At the moment I'm unable to give much time to dA, but that will be corrected in no time, and I've marked up the artists I want to get back to and whose galleries I want to rummage through when I get the chance. Your name, my friend, is definitely on that list.

Beautifully done. I always adored symbiotes and I must say this is an interesting piece.
The line work is very smooth and well defined and the colour work is very clean and has a lot of depth to it. It sure jumps out at you from your gallery page.

Excellent drawing. I like how you colored drawing, and lighting in the background.
Although it seems to me that the right part of the upper jaw a little lower than the others. And the only thing I added more saliva on the teeth on the outside of the tooth.
All in all great work.

I saw the uncolored link, and I'm having an internal struggle with deciding which one rocks more. I love colored sketches, but the uncolored one is also pretty rockin'. But damn! This is really good. @__@

After much internal struggling, mugs of coffee and four shots of espresso...I decided that I like the black and white one. The colored is really really good, and I'd kill to be able to color that well, but the uncolored sketch stabbed me with cupid's arrow. Of course, Wade could have used the sharp end, not the tail. But yes~ uncolored sketch or awesomeness for me~ <3

You're a stronger person than I for being able to pick one! I still can't! I know exactly what you mean about the uncolored one. Something about black and white is just so powerful. And just think, it's even more stunning in person!

Zaiachi In reply to Slightly-Spartan [2011-05-21 08:50:26 +0000 UTC]
Believe me, it was a very hard decision to make. I keep thinking which one was better, but at the end of the day, the black and white one kept on grabbing me with such intensity that it was very hard to get away from. (This coming from the person who loves colors too.)
@_@ Dont make me fly all the way to where you are and stalk you and your sketch in person.

Teehee I wouldn't mind....if you could find me O.o gosh, I can't believe how black and beautiful the graphite is, even in person. I jsut used a number 2 mechnical pencil so it's really weird that it's so perfectly black... Gosh, now I'm rambling; don't mind me.

If I could, but my getting lost rate is so high, I'd probably end up crawling the streets before I can stalk anyone. xD But seriously!? Just a number 2 mechanical pencil?! @_@ No way...I can't even get that kind of perfect shade...magic, it's really a magic pencil, isnt it? I mean, it's really hard to get that shade.

I know! Tell me about it! I have no idea how it worked out....I've drawn the same way with the same type of pencil and on the same type of paper before, so I don't know why this one decided it would come out so dark O.o I'm just grateful it did!
