Description
I recently read an article on gamma correction in the bryce render engine options and thought I'd experiment. This scene is with the gamma correction on, v2 has the gamma turned off. I like both versions, tho I like the richer colors in v2 more. With gamma turned off the scene can turn a little darker, but with repositioning lighting, you can brighten it back up, yet retain the more vibrant colors that result in turning the gamma correction off. I didn't do that for these pieces, because I wanted the scenes to be exactly the same with the only factor being the gamma control. 3 sizes in zip.Related content

Thanks....yeah, for some reason, natural light renders much cleaner and smoother than artifical light (that sounds strange- all light is artificial in bryce- doh- but you know what I mean )

You'd be surprised how much difference it can make in the colors turning it off. I don't know if you know much about photography, but it's almost like the effect of using a polarizer, it richens all the colors. But I'm glad you like it anyways

Yes, I've dabbled quite a bit with photography.... I usually just mess around with materials and light settings to get the look I want, but I can see where gamma could be useful...
