Description Altair watched as other kinlings ran in the field right outside the orphanage, others preferring on doing their own thing by themselves. Alt was content by themselves, but had to admit some company probably would've been nice; just someone to talk to at the very least, but they were used to the silence.

The breeze gently ruffled their hair whilst their gaze became unfocused. They let out a soft breath before making their way to the nearest tree, a shield against the harsh rays of the sun. The grass scratched at their skin and frowned yet made no move to head inside. They were outside, and that was already a huge improvement from being stuck indoors.

They let their eyes droop as they laid their head in their folded arms. Despite the cold grass the temperature was near perfect and before they knew it, droopy eyes quickly turned to drowsiness and the orange kinling let themselves slowly drift to sleep for a good afternoon nap.

At least, that was the plan. No sooner after they dozed-off were they jolted awake by a sudden weight leaning on their shoulder. Immediately their head whipped up and turned to look at the offender; a green kinling who had curled up by their side.

Alt froze for a moment before they laid a paw on the other kin and roughly pushed themselves away from her. They made no effort to stop the low growl that built in their throat as they stood up, ears pinned flat against their head. They took a step back.

The green kin tilted her head and looked at them.

"Get the hell away from me!" Alt yelled before the kin could even open their mouth to say anything. Their eyes were blown wide and they crouched low to the ground.

Alt stiffened as she suddenly felt multiple gazes on them accompanied by a deafening silence filling the yard. They chanced a glance around, seeing as the other kinlings had stopped their activities to observed them. Easing away from their crouch, they glanced at the green kinling one final time before turning heel and heading inside the building. Head and tail dropping as they stalked off, the other kin could only watch them walk away.

Step by step, Alt's heart slowly came back to a normal pace. They tried to ignore was an odd, almost burning, sensation on their shoulder which the kin had leaned on, yet couldn't seem to shake the feeling off. A minor amount of guilt ate away at them as they reached the door.

They stared at their claws for a few moments before raising their head back up and entering the building with one thought on their mind: 'What the fuck is wrong with me."

Alt let out one more sigh before entering the building to find a quiet corner for themselves.
