A chance capture. Driving by in the car and saw the poppies and the gathering clouds and saw possibilities. Stopped and took a dozen or so shots and drove off again. Quick tweek in PS to darken the sky and increase the contrast on the poppies.Shot location: [link]

i love poppies. omg, and the colors in this picture are so vivid, so alive they could pop out of there any minute. also the sky looks calm, yet threatening.

well the effect you obtained is amazing. The colors practically split the earth and the sky into different worlds, which is very interesting.

I have just returned from a couple of weeks in France and I took some more poppy shots whilst there. I will be posting them in a couple of days once all the shots are shorted out etc.

Glad you like it. I darken the clouds just a touch to get the contrast between flowers and sky.
That shot was taken a mile from where I live. Just driving by, saw it, liked it, stopped, took a dozen snaps and off again.
